Sorry moaning again

Oh I hate this disease!!!!

Had a lovely day Sunday went to a Global Greyhound walk. 110 greyhounds on this particular walk . We arrived a little late so at the back of the pack but Darcy wasn’t having it and took off like lightning and over took or mow down man and dog to get to the front . I couldn’t keep up so my hubby and son went on ahead and I cut short the walk and had a cup of tea. Darcy led the way and was having the time her life and finished 15 minutes earlier than the pack . I missed the joy of it and now am flaring after just a slightly longer walk than normal. A glimpse of joy then crashed . I hate this disease!!

Photo of son and Darcy in the lead .

It certainly likes to test us to the limits doesn't it. (Grrrr) Sounds like dear Darcy had a whale of a time. xxx

I've just reread your post, I really wish RA would p**s off.

I've enjoyed my few days break, but I'm wiped out doing very little, it is so annoying....

in reply toMmrr

Yeah wish it would do one . I just had my first hydrotherapy. I thought as I was doing it oh this is no good too easy .. apart from the the heel to toe balance walk which was impossible for me …got out the pool barely able to walk and dressing myself even though I wore easy clothing just pull on was a major struggle now I’m wiped out .. 😡🤯hate this disease…

If my OH had not been with me I would not have managed my wee dips, the getting dressed coming out in particular, even with the dryrobe, is so tiring, it is a struggle....for 5minutes in the water. But worth it.

Hi J

That's one competitive greyhound you've got there -, haha! Sounds like she had a fantastic day at least! Sorry it wasn't so good for you. It's such a precarious line between being ok, and doing it too much. To make it just that bit worse, that line is always moving too - aargh!!😡 Hope you feel better soon.

I used to have hydrotherapy years ago and I loved it. The staff at the Rehab centre were really nice, and used to often let me have more than the 6 x 2 weekly sessions normally allotted. I think they probably felt a bit sorry for me as I was only 15 when I started going there. I found it very helpful. It is however, as you're finding out, very tiring. After you came put of the pool there, they used to wrap you in sheets then you would lie on a bed for 20 mins and relax with a tea/coffee/squash. Bliss! Happy days 😊xx

Ps. I hate this disease too!!

Thanks Kags. I thought I was doing well with wide luxury warm changing rooms and super hot power showers. Certainly didn’t get your treatment. I was limping as well 😂😂xx

Yes, we really got good treatment there. It was a coal board Rehab place mainly for injured Miner's, but in the afternoon they used to take some NHS patients for hydrotherapy. Unfortunately, when the majority of the pits closed, this Rehab hosp was closed and sold off. Such is the way, eh?

Still, a nice changing room and a power shower isn't too shoddy!!😄xx

What a wonderful site to see all 110 greyhounds going along together . Must have been lovely .

Lovely to see and hear them howling and talking to each other. They all huddle up to each other resting their chins on each other’s back . Not so good when they take off excited and then all poo on mass 😂😂and dragging you off in excitement while trying to pick it up . 😂

Ah there is a miniature poodle in our park who jumps on Darcys back for a ride but she’s not wide enough and the poodle slips off 😂

I know. You only have to do a little more than usual and your body starts zhouting at you. A lovely photo. Greyhounds have the loveliest temperament in a dog,

The day will come when you can master that distance without having to pay for it in pain. And then the next and next etc. After 11 years and in remission, I still have limits to overcome. You can do it💪👍🌻. Stunning scenery.
