I had a phone call to day they want to operate on my eyes … wait for it … Wednesday. Barely any time to sort things out . Have to have a PCR test on Sunday ( nightmare trying to book one) pre op assessment on Monday and have to be in hospital for 7 am . Can’t drive and hubby has an important meeting so can’t take or pick me up . My sister has offered but she has her own children to pick up and drop off to school. The worst was telling work . It can’t be helped but for goodness sake a bit more notice .
Phone call for op. : I had a phone call to day they... - NRAS
Phone call for op.
Wow.It seems like health care provision is a feast or a famine.
But excellent that you are being offered surgery so soon. A cancellation by someone else perhaps ?
Not a cancellation. The op list is being made up 4 days in advance. I think it’s a case of WINTER IS COMING.. very game of thrones. Oh well it will sort its self out .
It is a rush but go for it as you may have to wait for some time otherwise if things get busy over the winter. Hope all goes well. 💗Can your sis drop you off early and you can wait somewhere quiet in a side room/quiet corner of the cafe, ready to be admitted? Better than trying to get a taxi. I do hope all goes very well for you. x
No time to worry about it seems really good to me. My husband had his moles removed in just days from GP telephone consultation so things are happening.
Fan-dabby-dozy
Thats awesome 👌
Hope all goes well, cant your husband make a detour and just push you out as he's going by 😅
No seriously I hope you find a way of getting there.
Hope all goes well for you, but OMG that is short notice!
Gosh I agree it’s hard to get organised so quickly. They must be trying to get ahead before the winter deluge.Good luck with the op. X
😱OMG...what a shock! I hope you're able to sort the logistics out 🤞But great that it's all going ahead 🙂
Well that is exciting and excellent news what operation are they doing on your eyes?Extremely fast if NHS!
My rheumatology appt was moved from November til April 22 then moved back to dec21
Even though GP said November was too long.
I am not expecting the Dec appointment to happen.
Nhs is creaking at seems and local hospital has declared major pressure in the summer!
It is NHS !!! I have dry eyes so they are going to put plugs in also my eye lashes are being pushed down into my eyes so they are going to decide exactly what they will do on the day so can’t even tell work how long the recovery will be . Thanks for your good wishes. See if you can get a cancellation appointment as people are cancelling all the time at the moment. You never know 🤞
Hope all goes well. I had similar a few weeks ago for toe surgery told to get PCR then isolate as surgery date was 8th September but I told them I hadn’t had my pre op & was seeing my consultant the following day to discuss again after it was cancelled from March 2020. So hopefully in a few weeks time with a bit more notice than you. What can you do but go with it. Good luck x
Good luck J. Hope all goes well and hope you get your lifts to and from hospital sorted. The NHS is all over the place. I could swear but I won't because I'm a lady you know 😇.
😂😂😂are you an imposter Biofreak? How you doing? X
I'm ok J. Brought OH home from hospital yesterday. He has to go back for some gastric reflux tests on Tuesday and Wednesday and again on Thursday to the lung clinic to see if any more fluid has accumulated. Hopefully it will be under control 🤞. What do you mean an imposter? I really AM a lady 😇🤣. Good luck next week. Let us know how you go on please xx
I used to be on the other side ie making the phone calls. Most folk, I have to say, were ultra delighted at the news. I could hear the relief in their voices. Hope all goes well. Con amore Bx
Oh wow that is quick, hope you get all the logistics of getting to the hospital and back sorted safely. All the best for the operation. X
Good luck 👍
Wishing you good luck good health and a safe recovery 🌺💐🌞
Good luck 👍💕
Hi there!
Well, what can I say, I'm very jealous!😉
Eventhough my rheumatologist has intervened and spoke to my leg surgeon (he thinks Nov/Dec is too long to wait after all this hassle), he didn't have any luck.☹
Seriously though, really I'm pleased for you (honest)! Have you waited long? Is it the punctual occlusion you are having for the dryness? I've had that done a few times, both with silicon plugs and cauterisation. Definitely worth giving it a go. I would guess it would be done as a day case. 🤞
Hope you can get a lift, otherwise you'll be outside with your thumb up and showing a bit of leg!! Good luck with that one!😁xx
Oh God they will break the speed limit to get away if I show a leg 😂😂😂 I saw a specialist in Dec 2020 they said could be awhile. Said to hubby only the other day I think I might get a letter with a date but not a phone call on Friday and operate on a Wednesday. Shame about your wait it’s been a year of waiting for you. We are nearly in October now and hopefully it will go quickly. Yours is a complicated op so not to be rushed but you never know they might surprise you just like me 😁 yeah I’m having the plugs and they haven’t quite decided what to do yet about my lids they are very heavy and pushing my lashes into my eyes and may cause problems with plugs . It is much worse since my consultation so will have to weight and see.
I bet your demoralised xx
Haha! I'm sure you would attract lots of attention ........ just make sure it's not a commando day!😳
Yes, that has taken a while for you, but yet another spooky prediction. I do hope you get a good one for me! (I know it doesn't work like that - if only). I hope they can do yours without too much difficulty. I'm certain it will be more comfortable afterwards - and that's my prediction for you!😁
Yes, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed about my leg. Just want it over with. Especially because, as I've already moaned, it's having such an effect on other bits now. Hey-ho I suppose I've just got to knuckle down (ouch) and plod on a while longer. I hope you turn out to be right and I do get a surprise date!!🤞🤞xx
