Nurse did not call

A bit annoyed I chased up as I hadn't had a nurse call for while, received a letter saying the telephone call would be today at 9.30am, nobody has called. I've left a message for them asking if there was an error as I didn't receive my call but they have 2 weeks to come back to me. I wouldn't normally be that concerned but I wanted to highlight some problems I have been experiencing and if it meant I needed to increase my medication. Has anybody else had an appointment missed by a nurse not ringing? Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear this and I too would be annoyed and want to chase it up. Hope you get an explanation and more importantly the opportunity to speak to someone, raise the problems you've been experiencing and have your questions and queries answered properly too. Thank you Pippy, I think I will chase this up with the consultants secretary if I haven't heard anything by Wednedsay. I get their busy, but you just cannot easily contact anybody. 🙄 yes I will pop a note on to let you know the outcome. X

No the past year they have been cancelled but I'm ok so its not been an issue but for someone who has problems its not good.

I wouldn't mind so much if I knew it was cancelled but this was just no call and no explanation.

No, the rheumy nurses have always phoned me, but I am being fobbed off at the moment re a long overdue rheumy call/appointment. No rheumy discussion since January 2020 .. 17 months and need rheumy advice the nurses cannot give me and being made to wait by a rheumy admin woman who thinks she’s a consultant! Hope you can email the nurse and say you didn’t receive the call then it’s in black and white as such.

Oh gosh that's not good for you, that's such a long time to wait. Do you not have a consultants secretary that you could voice your concerns with? Good luck it's tiring. Xx

That’s the same admin woman doing that role too and deciding when I’ll get a rheumy phone call and wouldn’t reply to me when I asked when as of it was likely to be next general review in July. 17 months since last rheumy appointment. Hope you get your phone call and do email so they’ll know you didn’t receive it..xx

Oh it's not on, they must realise we are ringing because we have to because we're not well, why do some people have to make life difficult. ☹ xx

She emailed me this afternoon .. was shocked and I did reply to thank her. Maybe she’s getting soft! I suspect my nurse has had a hand in this though telling her to contact me! xx
