Hi to all our HealthUnlocked members!

We have exciting news to impart. Our first modular e-learning programme, SMILE-RA launches on 17 September and it’s free to register on the new supported self-management area on our website nras.org.uk/selfmanagement but you won’t be able to access this link until launch!

Learning about your disease and how to self-manage with the right support is extremely important when you have a long-term disease like RA. There is a great deal of evidence to show that structured, supported self-management improves your long-term outcomes and helps you to experience a better quality of life. SMILE has an intuitive interface, and you can select the modules which are of most interest and relevance to you.

“Even though my RA diagnosis was many years ago, my involvement as a Volunteer with NRAS has taught me that there is always more to learn. The research, development and information in the world of RA is constantly evolving. I am a strong believer in ‘knowledge is power’ when it comes to managing your own condition. Therefore, SMILE is a great resource whether you are newly diagnosed or have been living with RA for many years”.

Donna Saunders, living with RA

New modules will continue to be added as they are developed. This e-learning programme has been co-produced with health professionals and people living with RA at every step. Launch modules include: Foundation, Newly Diagnosed, Meet the Team and Managing Pain and Flares, with the next module due on ‘Medicines in RA’ before the end of the year.

Get ready to SMILE on 17 September!

To register free of charge, visit nras.org.uk/selfmanagement from 17 September 2021.
