Great medical help

I am really fortunate to have a great rheumatologist and GP surgery who have been immensely helpful and supportive during a bad year. I have been seen face to face by both on a number of occasions. I have my specialist’s email and he once contacted me on a Sunday night. Medics are getting a bad press just now let’s really thank the good, dedicated ones.

Great post. As with all things people are more ready to respond negatively than positively. I too have a wonderful GP and Rheumatology team and feel as you do that they should be applauded and congratulated. Where would we be without them. Thank you.

I have had great service all through the pandemic from all the GPs and hospitals. In fact since lockdown has lifted it has been harder to access the services!! Although, generally, I cannot fault the health care round here - apart from dentists!!!!!

A nice lifting post, I have good care too particularly throughout the pandemic.

So good to hear my GP has been ok too and I quite like the no F2f appointments to be honest because they ask better questions and take your word for it which in my experience they never did with a F2f. Love my rheumy too but he’s been working with geriatric patients through pandemic as medics in general were hard to come by so have really struggled to see him which has had a big impact but I’m still not complaining. My grandson had to be taken to a walk in centre yesterday because he’s 3 months old and has bronchitis they didn’t want to see him at all because he had a cough but his mum went nuts as she had done a covid test on him and it was negative. Long story short they sent her to A&E who she says were absolutely fantastic her own GP wouldn’t see them until 4pm and he was too poorly to wait. So some of the NHS is fantastic and others not so much.
