OMG I CANT BELIEVE I DID THIS 😱

I’ve had a really good few days mid week the best for manny years. Thursday night felt a bit off very stiff in the evening blamed fibro. Friday night tired and again stiff had to use hot water bottle and paracetamol. Had a busy week so thought I had over did it. Woke yesterday with a flare that wiped my entire day out as I slept most of it . Woke in the night with joint pain hit the cocodamol deep heat and hot water bottle. Worst flare since I started baricitnib I told my hubby. Opened my box of tablets for the day and suddenly realised I hadn’t put in my baricitnib in my weekly pillbox . I’m mortified I can’t believe it . I started amitriptyline just over 6 weeks ago and have noticed I was getting confused so changed to pregablin on Thursday. At least I know baricitnib works. OH is going to check meds now . It does get confusing. I’m on 10 tablets a day and 3 of those are the same colour but different shapes .

Sorry to hear about the flare but it's still good news that the baricitnib is working so well. I can well imagine how easy it is to get confused when you're taking so many different tablets - especially when some of them look alike.

Oh my, talk about being on that roller coaster, feeling great one minute then back down to earth with a bump. Then discovering you hadn't put your baricitnib in your pillbox! Hope you can get back on track soon and begin to feel much better. xx

So easy to do but so sorry you are in a flare now. Hope it settles soon. Not sure if it would work for you but the chemists can do what is called a blister pack weekly which is where all your tablets that you take can be put into morning, lunchtime, dinner and bedtime if needed for seven days in its own compartment so you know you have taken them all. x

in reply toSummerrain14

Didn’t know this could be done . Thanks Gail . X

Oh thank goodness I mentioned it then lovely. Every chemist can do it and it is a free service. May be worth looking into. x

I’m on it 👍x

I know hhow you feel,it’s so worrying..I try t to check the boxes and dosage.

I put the Carbocysteine and cetitirizine in the dosettee box.

The restI put out as I go along. Ot them int 3 diffEvent pots,so that it’s easy to check. As go along.apologies for sounding really CD,but my concentration is so poor,I’m frightened of getting things wrong. And getting ill.

This is partly because I have some things different day .

And partly because ai don’t want to make a mistake and it could have repercussions through the week.

Also have developing cataracts, which I had the pre op for.yesterday.

I’m hope you are back on track with your medication and your health xx

in reply toOshgosh

I’m really an OCD person that’s why I’m so upset . This isn’t me . Good luck with your op . Everything will look so much brighter after x

Wishing you the best for your cateract op

Well on the brightside your tablets work 😁

Easily done especially when you've got to take a few.

I find it extremely annoying when the tablets ‘twin’ with others..it is very confusing… I do my tablets (Su,M,T,W,Th,F,S) on a Sunday, but always ensure I have at least 3 coffees first! I am always at least a week ahead with reordering that way too..

Good luck for this week (we have all been there) 😀

Don't beat yourself up we've all done similar. And only 10 pills a day ? I'm jealous ! and that doesn't include the Ad Cal in the side drawer next to the bed which I chew before and and after brushing my teeth. And the liquid Cimitidine. I hope you get on well with the Pregabalin it worked well for me after the initial tiredness it did take the Shingles pain away really well, just took a while to stop but who cares it was worth it to be painfree. xxx

Well at least you know the baricitinib is working 🙃 and it is so easily done. Not helped by the fact that the tablets keep changing shape / colour with each prescription, depending upon which brand is dispensed.

On a much more minor scale, I took 2 paracetamol when I woke up feeling a bit hot the other night, struggled to the loo, came back to bed and took another 2.

Doh, no harm done, but it does make you realise how easy it is to over or under dose.

Aagh! What are you like?! I know you were feeling better but you can't just stop the drugs willy-nilly!!😉

Seriously, it can be worryingly easy to forget things. I still do it sometimes. As for drugs looking too similar - I once got my MTX and folic acid confused and took 5 folics all in one go. Probably better than the other way around!! 😅😅

Hope you'll soon be back to feeling much better again xx🤞🤞

in reply toKags1068

I did with mtx too that’s why pillbox .. still messed it up 🙄live and learn .. well second time around xx

Phew - not just me then!😁 I've trained hubby (with a list), and now he very kindly sorts them out into my pillpots once a week. What a star! I absolutely hate doing it. Do you think your OH could be similarly trained?! 🤔xx

in reply toKags1068

Yep training starts today x

I am so happy for you that baricitnib works well for you, even if you had to find out the hard way. I'm quit often told to "keep taking the tablets Dad", but they don't necessarily mean the ones for RA!
