Had a steroid injection 2 weeks ago. Although didn’t get any great relief for the 1st week this last week has been my best since Christmas. Have had no tiredness, stiffness very little pains or aches and my limp had all but gone. Have loved walking my dog in sun or rain.I’ve been in great humour and enjoyed spending time with my family. Then yesterday afternoon started to feel tired and fell asleep yesterday afternoon twice then I started limping and had pain in myAchilles and ankle. Woke up in the night with cramp in pain full ankle and calf and woke up stiff with joint pain and the dreaded fatigue. I’m going on holiday in 2 weeks was hoping injection would last at least until after my holiday and at its best till I start my new cocktail of drugs. But not to be ☹️🤬
It'll nibble away, make no further progress at some point, then move on somewhere else, new or encountered on a previous visit, but it'll be back for bigger bites, maybe a good old munch on those two fingers and thumbs at a later date, possibly the entire hand, that's a given, that's it's M.O.
Im on my 4th steroid injection (in the bum) in 11 months. The first lasted 10 weeks - 90% relief. The second lasted 8 weeks but may 80% relief. The 3rd only lasted 5 weeks with about 50% relief and the latest one was given 2 weeks ago and has only given a tiny improvement - maybe 10%. You're body does adjust to them apparently. So im going to have to take a break from them - hopefully they will get my RA meds stabilized sooner rather than later...
