I am keen to get back to Aqua classes. I am on Methotrexate and Benepali and have had both jabs. Do we think it will be safe to go ?

It’s the changing areas/communal spaces and not the pool itself, I’ve been told. You need to still ensure distance before and after. My hydro/pool facilities situation was cramped and not distanced so I can’t go back yet.

I went daily when I was holiday last autumn ....MTX and Enbrel. You just need to continue to take normal precautions.

You can ask your leisure centre what precautions they are taking. Mine cleans the changing cubicles and all the lockers...and showers...in between every 1 hour swimming session. No joke - I've seen the staff scrubbing everything religiously. So if you have a good leisure centre, it should be absolutely fine. Enjoy it! x

A good question and one that has been on my mind. I'm so keen to get back to the warm outdoor spa... and relax.I received an email a few days ago saying they cannot open up to members yet due to them not being able to provide a Covid secure environment. I guess it at least in part depends on the facilities / layout and so on.

I can't wait either! I think that my pool has got good systems in place for swimming so am hoping that it will be the same with classes when they start. I'm busy with work atm but things will slow down from June so hopefully I'll be able to start then 🤞

I have talked to the gym. Seems very well organised so am going for a half hour swim on Fri. 😀. No indoor classes allowed yet , but they are hoping it won't be long.

Enjoy and if outside even safer. My hydro place was so old fashioned and lacking so hopefully they will have finished a safer changing area etc.

Classes dont start in our area until june. So we wait in a spot outside then you all go in and leave your clothes on a spot. Then whilst you are in the pool they clean the changing rooms from the last lot of swimmers . Ypu go out to the clean rooms then go out a seperate exit. I just feel ive had two jabs, its the most immunity im gonna get, i need exercise or ill get ill from other causes! And if I get covid supposedly i wont get ill enough to go to hospotal or very ill.

When I feel ready to go to the local out door pool I will probably avoid the communal changing areas by going in my costume ready to swim and putting a towelling robe/tracksuit on over the top to go home.

Oh yes, could look for a towelling track suit

I was back swimming when they reopened last year without any jags being available.

If they are open it’s because they are able to operate within the guidelines which are pretty stringent. I say this as a swimming teacher who also happens to take the same meds as you.

Follow their instructions and you will be fine. Enjoy! 🏊‍♀️
