Good News!

Congratulations on getting both shots of vaccine! My husband and I are both double vaccinated and feel a better sense of security going out shopping. We even had a visit from our grandson and daughter from New York after not seeing them for over a year.

Good news....but continue to be careful as you can still transmit the disease. (and still probably catch a mild version).

I see from a previous post that your RA treatment is Rituxan. I’m on a Rituximab biosimilar too. Unfortunately we do not yet know how much protection the vaccines offer us against Covid but it is thought they will not give full protection or be fully effective.

So please continue to be very careful and avoid hugging, wear masks and keep a safe distance from others for the time being.

I echo your post Lola as I’m a Rituximaber too and I don’t know if we mounted enough antibodies but I hope we did enough 🙏🏻 I had my second vaccine last Saturday and after another two weeks will I go out more freely? No sadly not round here as numbers are rising still. I’ve been advised by my biologics nurse to still shield in my own way .. so do exactly as I’ve been doing .. and go very steady when I do venture out. She advised to watch and wait. Try get more people vaccinated. Distance and still wear a mask.

Thats good news darling. xxx

It would be great if as many of you as possible could share your experience of having the vaccine or not with the global research study. The COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance (GRA) is truly grateful for your support in helping them learn about how COVID-19 affects people with rheumatic diseases over the past year.

As you know, the COVID-19 vaccine deployment has begun and offers hope for us to emerge from the pandemic. However, people with rheumatic diseases around the world have unique issues to consider related to receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. As more people with rheumatic diseases are getting vaccinated, their early experience is important to report. Therefore, the GRA has developed a new survey to learn about their perspectives and experiences related to the COVID-19 vaccine.

Who can take the GRA COVID-19 Vaccine Survey?

Eligibility criteria:

Adult (ages 18 and older)

Diagnosis of a rheumatic disease

NOTE: People can participate regardless of whether or not they have had COVID-19 infection or received a COVID-19 vaccine.
