Hi all,

I have been on Adalimumab since December 20 and it is unfortunately no longer working. It seemed to be until I had the first dose of vaccine (possibly a coincidence).

I have a face 2 face with the hospital tomorrow to change my meds.

I know it depends on several things but has this bio failed with anyone else and what could be the next option?

Also are hospitals still administering steroid injections? I really hope so!

I’m just trying to prepare myself in advance.

Thanks for any info shared 🙂

So pleased you have an appointment tomorrow. Yes to both too. I had my biologics assessment and was offered a steroid injection too. I have just started on Adalimumab today and the nurse was saying to me that if it doesn’t work then the process for a new biologic is no where near as long as it was for being approved for my first biologic. I have been on oral steroids for nearly a year now and have had a steroid injection too. Good luck for tomorrow. x

Oh gee sorry don’t let my post dishearten you as so many have had great results with this medication so good luck! I do hope it doesn’t take months again & just worried which one is next as a had no side effects with Adalimumab at all. Pleased to hear steroid jabs are still ok 👍 thank you for the info & hope it kicks in quickly for you, certainly did for me 😊

Oh your post didn’t dishearten me bless you. Just seen that you have had a steroid injection and hope that brings you so much needed relief and that adding MTX with the biologic will get things back on track for you soon. 🤞🏻😊

Interesting tv at it was working until shortly after your vaccination. O am on MTX 20mg which seemed to be working reasonably well until 5 days after my vaccination when suddenly my symptoms returned and have continued and even worsened for last 5-6 weeks. Saw my rheumatologist who seems to think, as I did, that there is a connection. She gave me steroid injections to try to settle things down to see if that works before trying anything else. So far so good 🤞🤞

Yes the consultant I saw today also felt there may have been a connection but still encouraged me to take the 2nd vaccination. I’ve had a steroid injection to hopefully settle things & had mtx added to my bio. Fingers crossed here still 😒

I had quite a flare post vaccination too. Maybe it is a bit early to judge the biologic.

Yes the consultant was thinking along the same lines!

I’m in a similar situation, I’ve been on humira since Feb 2020 but I’m now off it as it’s been reducing my white cell count quite dramatically so waiting to hear what next! Really hoping I get changed quickly as I’m flaring and only on oral steroids

in reply toDomhem

Sorry to hear that, really hope you get some relief soon! That is a shame as I’ve read Humira is the original bio which is meant to be very good.
