Staying at home... still and Tocilizumab arriving on Friday

Does everybody get anxious before starting a different medication?

I am filled with trepidation but I seem to remember being the same with other new treatments. Will it work, will there be side effects etc etc.. Also, when should I take it? Do I want to potentially ruin the weekend (that's a joke - weekends have no sparkle these days).

I don't know about you, but while I felt BJ's news was optimistic yet properly cautious, I felt only doom and gloom after NS's statement (I live in Scotland, so this is more pertinent to me), there seemed little to be optimistic about, maybe it was the tone of it?

All in all, yesterday was a low day, today will be better I can't allow myself to wallow for long. There is that saying about things you can't change and this situation, the pandemic and the rules set to keep us safe, we cannot change. So we live with it, we find a way through it and hope for better times.

Hope your new med is the ‘right one’ . Days are longer, spring next week (always starts with St David’s day for me , whatever the weather)

Yes I think we all have trepidation when staring something new and unknown. But it's also exciting and an opportunity for a new start, I tell myself.

BJ is good at being optimistic, but has had to make many U-turns as a result of over-promising. Let's hope he is more realistic this time, as both NS and Drakeford have been more cautious (sorry!).

I’ve been taking Tocilizumab for 5 years. It’s been brilliant for me. Really transformed my life. Hopefully it will do the same for you. No side effects either. Best of luck.
