How about this new wonder drug Filgotinib? I got a link from a friend to say that it has now been approved for RA sufferers. Claims to halt irreversible damage.

Encouraging isn't it? There's a thread about it below 😉

Is that a separate thread? I couldn't find it, but that's probably me (unless it's disappeared? or I'm putting in the wrong search term?)

Thank you. I’m cautiously optimistic!

If you do well on any of the currently available drugs they will halt (or slow to an imperceptible level) any damage.

But the more the merrier as gives us all more choice.

My friend (another RA sufferer) sent me this about it. Whilst it's good news I was shocked to read that it reports that 50% of people with RA have mental health problems, it shortens life expectancy by 10 years and what it costs the economy in lost workdays.

Lots of us go to the doctors in pain, wanting pain relief, get understandably upset about it and get prescribed happy pills....does that label us having having mental health problems?

With the new drugs out now how life expectancy is not ten years shorter.

Costing the country billions in lost work days? If you Google how many people who have RA and OA, it states 400,00 with RA and 8 and a half million with OA.
