Morning my lovelies. Having tested positive for covid and being rushed into hospital for oxygen support I am now home and recovering slowly.

Wanted to say a huge thank you for those who constantly messaged and checked in on me. A dear friend on here posted an article regarding recovering post covid and her article was true to what hospital advised and even treated me with. Before people post negative comments please realise that no one is an expert and unless you have been through an experience its hard to comment. Please think how your comments affect people and the last thing I want is to hear negativity especially as i almost died from covid.

Thank you to the person who posted that article as after reading it I realised that's exactly how I was treated. Strong drugs and lying on my side. I am making progress but now RA has kicked in so awaiting treatment and hoping for a better 2021 as it didn't start well.

Love to you all and thank you for the support over the last few weeks xx

Thank you Ms-D for taking the time to update us how you are doing. I am sure there were many more thinking of you even if they didn’t take to posting a message. Us RA sufferers do look out for each other... what a super group we are 💪

I'm not too bad thanks, I've been better but that was when I was younger 😁😁. Take care, lovely to see you back. xx

It’s good to here from you .. you are a very strong person and it shows in your positive attitude.. you are so right how well we can support each other on this site . It’s not easy being in lockdown and many are struggling but your attitude proves we can over come this through support. Take it slowly with recovery then you can tackle the RA .( double whammy) xxx

Good to hear, Ms-D. I’m very glad to hear you are on the mend. None of us can predict how we might be affected by SARS-CoV-2 if we catch it.

I am sure you will overcome your physical weakness and would be able to defeat RA too with your positive attitude. Plz share which makes you think positivel despite of all struggles because every one cannot stay positive in dark moments

Ms-D profile image
Ms-D in reply to Minah

I agree not everyone is positive and I'm certainly not positive all the time but I'm learning to let go of things that make me sad or concentrating on me for now. Meditating and doing things that make me happy. Lifes too short and I realised that in hospital.

So good to hear from you Ms-D! I guess it’s not surprising that your RD would decide to complain after everything your body has been through over the last few weeks but hope it settles down soon for you. Hope your daughter is doing Ok too, I’m sure she was worried about Mum and is pleased to have you home. 🤗

Ms-D profile image
Ms-D in reply to Monkeysmum

Shes doing well and is very clingy at the moment but I don't blame her. She's in middle of choosing options for GCSEs so its all fun and games. I speak to consultant Thursday so hopefully start treatment again. I got told I can't have vaccine as just had covid so got antibodies but also there is no guarantee that I will not get covid again as lots of people have been reinfected. Sounds fun for me. But I am keeping positive and looking forward to teaching remotely from Friday only a lesson a day but its a start. School head called me yesterday and it was lovely to see the support i am getting.

Monkeysmum profile image
Monkeysmum in reply to Ms-D

Aw, she’s just showing her love isn’t she? All very fresh for her still at the minute so I’m sure she will settle in time. My daughter is same age as yours so we are negotiating GCSE options too right now, can’t believe we are at this stage already. I was surprised to hear what they told you about the vaccine, hopefully you might be able to get it in a few months as like you say there are reports of people getting it twice, although fairly rare I believe. Pleased to hear your work are being supportive, I’m sure you will feel more like your normal self getting back to some teaching but be sure to take it steady. 👍😘

Ms-D profile image
Ms-D in reply to Monkeysmum

It is strange being in high school for her as everything is very upside down but her remote learning is really good but how are kids meant to chose options when they have barely been at school to learn what they like or dislike and these are important exams. Not life or death but her future and so many thousands of kids are in the same boat. Lets see what her school say as got a meeting online next week. Hoping antibodies work but the injection only last a few months and even then no guarantee it works. Its all very messed up lol. Oh well. I have a day of pampering today...well when my daughter has done her classes she is doing my hair and nails. Not sure if I should be happy or worried lol

Monkeysmum profile image
Monkeysmum in reply to Ms-D

I’ve got exactly the same feeling about the options process, my daughter is choosing from a list of subjects about a third of which she’s never done. We’re having a bit of a discussion about Food Tech at the moment, she wants to choose it because she likes cooking, I’m trying to stop myself from being the lecturing parent going on about job applications! Hope you enjoy the pampering, my daughter has got pretty good at nails now but I still don’t let her loose on my hair often, tends to end up in plaits or pigtails, neither a good look when you’re 43! 🤣🤣

Ms-D profile image
Ms-D in reply to Monkeysmum

Omg thats funny I ended up with bobbles in my hair last time and at 43 its defo not a cool look.

My daughter hasn't a scooby what she wants to do but RE is compulsory in her school. She loves it strangely. She would like to do art and some other "fun" subjects but I will support her as long as not going to mess up later on as choosing wrong now will cost her later. Shes no Einstein but got a good head on her at the best of times x

If your daughter wants any advice I am happy to help x

Monkeysmum profile image
Monkeysmum in reply to Ms-D

Yes RE is compulsory at my daughters school too, but they take the exam for it at end of Year 10, rather than with all the other ones. It’s a difficult balance isn’t it, I want her to make her own choices but at that age you do just tend to focus on the short term don’t you? Thanks so much for your offer of advice, that’s really kind of you. School are supposed to be covering some subject introductions in form time over the next couple of weeks so we’ll see how she feels after that, but I’ll defo keep your offer in mind, thank you 😘

Ms-D profile image
Ms-D in reply to Monkeysmum

You can message me privately if you need advice. My daughter will do RE next year too. Not bad I guess. I've got careers experience so if I can help the offer is there. Its hard for them I know. Hope your daughter is okay and let her know its okay to chose what makes her happy as long as there's a path leading somewhere. If my daughter had her way she would be a clown as forever goofing around but her grades are okay so I'm happy.

in reply to Ms-D

Hope you don’t mind me butting in . RE was compulsory for my son strangely he enjoyed it. It’s a good subject as it incorporates many religions / beliefs. I think it teachers understanding too.

The Basics are the important ones but if they enjoy a subject I tend to believe they will do really well and have a sense of achievement what more can you ask .. enjoy your pamper day 😉

Ms-D profile image
Ms-D in reply to

I totally agree. Shes loving RE and I'm learning so much from her too. Whatever she chose I support as long as she has the right guidance from school. During these times its so hard x

Hi Ms-D, I hope you're continuing to improve. I don't often write on here but I do read most posts and I just wanted to say to you, 'thank you, so much for documenting your Covid-19 journey'. I have not been well but tested negative and in-between the waiting of the result, I was wondering what I should do about my medication. Should I continue to take Humira etc etc. Your post (I've read back), has helped answer some of the concerns my husband and I had. I hope you continue to rest and make good progress. x

Ms-D profile image

I thought it was good idea to let people know how serious it can get. I was half hoping I would be okay but the big man upstairs had other plans for me. Its cool as I'm trying to move on from the experience but let people know that it was scary but you can come out the other side. People on here have been amazing and are always supportive. Lots of love from people who I don't know but are my family now x

Dont stop any medication till you get advice from your rhuemy team. It could be dangerous. I stopped steroids and got told I'm hospital how dangerous that could have been. But luckily I was on steroids whilst being treated but speak to your rhuemy team and get advice. Hope you are well though and any help then I am here.
