Firstly, thank you to you all for all your kind messages of support.
Wednesday received a phone call from a specialist nurse from Kings College, to say that my case was represented and discussed in a lengthy meeting earlier that day. They’ve decided I will be having a PET/CT scan which will give the best information about the cancer. Also where a scan shows shades of greys a PET/CT scan shows up in colours. Although they know which tumour I have this will give extra clarification, was told if all remains the same also contained I will be booked in to having a “distal Pancreatectomy” without a biopsy, they will analyse once removed. They will only take a biopsy if in doubt. The scan I’m having is so advanced will tell them if it has spread anywhere else in my body, also predict changes sooner, also helps doctors know recovery.
Friday (yesterday) received another phone call booking me in for the scan on the 30th this month (October) 11am.
From last Sunday until Thursday felt extremely unwell feeling nauseous this happens anytime day, night during the night, Woke up yesterday not feeling rough which was good. This morning not so good side effects of the Methotrexate injection yesterday for the RA which I know will wear off as day goes on.
I would like to wish you all Well and pain free!!!
Also a peaceful day.
Best wishes

That sounds very encouraging - you're obviously in good hands. Good to have a clear way forward and they're keeping you in the loop which is hopefully reassuring. Try to stay as optimistic as you can 💐
I will do Boxerlady thank you. They have been quick in getting me in, explaining what I’m not sure of. I’m keeping my questions for when I meet with consultant who will answer all questions xx
I am getting there thank you Medway-lady. Early beginning of lockdown one of my brothers had his quadruple surgery at kings, he was well looked after, ended up staying for 5 weeks couldn’t fault the hospital xxxx
I live close to Queen Mary’s Sidcup. Because it was a urgent referral Lewisham was the quickest hospital, I did ask for QM’s being closest plus have a new cancer unit. I needed to go where they could get me in quickest xx
Hi Pamela. I'm so glad they are doing this, it really sounds like they've got your back and are pretty much not leaving any stone unturned. I'm glad also that you don't have too long to wait and the 30th will come round soon enough. I'm really sorry you're not feeling too good and I'm wondering if the stress and worry of it all is taking its toll as well as your condition - it certainly won't help. I hope you feel a bit easier soon and wish you all the very best with it all. Please keep us informed. xx
Hi Springcross, I think it’s a combination, the not knowing, what am i up against, having to deal, surgery itself, basically everything. For all I know it could be and hoping it’s benign. The surgery part will be waking up having tube down my throat causing me to gag, had a long conversation with my brother Barry who had quadruple by pass just before lockdown, he explained tube removal is uncomfortable took about 20 seconds to be removed, I would want it out within 10! That’s one of my concerns, I was told any questions and concerns to mention when I meet the consultant. Admittedly i have not had to wait long for any appointments which is good, I’m just grateful my previous consultant and radiographer found the tumour which could had been easily over looked had they not known what they were looking for, isn’t normally found till it’s attached to the liver, so have that in my favour.
Thank you Springfield, I will keep you all informed xx
Hi Pamela it sounds as though there’s a great team there giving you the best options. Good luck with the PET scan and surgery. Everyone hopes for the best possible outcome for you. Not too long to wait . Big hugs
Thank you Liz, it is nerve wrecking also extremely sad, I just want to get it over with. I have people at my friends church praying, also receiving lovely messages on our Health Unlocked forum which is totally overwhelming!!! xx
Best wishes and sounds like they are looking after you
Thinking of you Pamela and am so pleased that the hospital is keeping in touch with you. Best wishes to you and sending lots of positive thoughts to you x
The hospital have kept me up to date with everything from the meeting to arranging scans and what happens after I cannot complain feel extremely grateful. Thank you Summerrain14 for your reply and best wishes xx
Keep yourself well away from anyone for the next two weeks. Spray everything that comes through the door and don't open the door to anyone without wearing a mask. Praying that all will go well for you. Sending love and best wishes.
Thanks for keeping us updated Pamelah, glad you have a date for your scan and I hope you can take it easy for the next couple of weeks. Still keeping everything crossed at this end. Xx
