Thank you for your replies. What should I be looking for and what questions to ask for my next telephone appointment. Should I have my methotrexate increased, as my body is starting to niggle with aggravating pain it’s low to middling, weather changing which for me means that the pain changes no matter if it’s cold or warm it changes, as the methotrexate has made a dramatic changes for me, i don’t want to lose the benefits I have recovered. Methotrexate taken by pen 10mg every Thursday with Saturday takin folic 5mg plus the rest of my meds on a daily basis, I have co-cods which they ration me per month, is their better pain relief.

Good idea planning for your appointment.

Every Rheumatologist works differently and we have to be guided by them. Your still on a small dose for methotrexate so yes there is possibly going to be an increase if your bloods are good. Your Rheumatologist May add something else. Unfortunately we are are all different so it will be what’s best for you. Ring your gp they can offer stronger pain relief . Can you take NSAIDs? If you can naproxen can be prescribed by your gp.

Make a list of you symptoms be detailed it all helps. Let’s us know how you get on.

You need to be quite clear with them that the symptoms are increasing. Then they can discuss with you whether to increase the methotrexate or add in something else. Have a look at the NRAS treatment pages for ideas about what they might offer you so that you can discuss it from a position of already knowing a little.
