Morning everyone,
Does anyone experience pain under their shoulder blades. It's not constant but when it comes on it's really painful. Sometimes just one side but more often both sides.

Some gynaecological problems can cause that
Any chance it can be Costocondritis? It’s a form of inflammation in the little muscles between the rib cage ( not a very technical description) but lots of us with RA get it and to you it may feel like it’s under your shoulder blades? With mine it is much worse when I move about ( say on a dog walk or when I change position to lay down) and it can be incredibly painful and unfortunately can take quite some time to ease. It can also give you pain there if you have over exerted yourself and aggravated those muscles , say carrying something heavy and with rest it will ease. Maybe speak to your Rheumatology team for their advice.
I have pain there too at the moment on my right side only and feel it mainly around the back of my chest not the front. Because of that my doctor told me it can't be costochondritis as that is usually felt at the front in the region of the sternum. So I'm none the wiser and think it's either a cracked/broken rib (unlikely) or just a muscular pain.
However, I have other issues at the moment including shortness of breath and both that and chest pain can be side effects of Rituximab and its biosimilars. So who knows? I just hope it improves soon, for both of us!
Thank you hope you feel better soon,I am on Benapli never considered it may be a side effect.
Yes me. I get it on and off and it feels like someone has started a fire under my shoulder blade, very painful. Have spent a fortune on different chairs blaming them but now realise it is all part and parcel of RD.
Thank you x
