Poor tin man πŸ˜’πŸ’

I don't know if it's related but I overslept this morning and really struggled to come to. Had usual Methotrexate fog yesterday evening but it's usually gone by now. Slow morning/day here too 😴

My MTX day is Monday and on this lower dose since April not had a problem until this Tuesday slept all day and yesterday a struggle . No pain or swelling just fatigued and stiff.. is the MTX or a flare or the weather???? Who knows πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Very strange we both are displaying these symptoms after MTX... spooky

Mmm.... I've had this since the increased dose 5 weeks ago and have had a similar few weeks each time but this does seem more dramatic. Joints still bad too. Good job I'm not having to go out to work atm. πŸ™„ Spoke to nurse on Tuesday and she's going to ask the consultant whether I need to wait for the 12 weeks or whether something can be tweaked now 🀞

When I was on 20mg injections gradually I got worse especially after starting a biologic. The MTX hangover got worse. Sleepy 6 days a week then I slept for 36 hours straight. Had a 4 week break then restarted on a lower dose I was much happier .

I was increased in beginning of March to 20 mg and was fine (apart from awful hair loss) until about a month ago, then it kicked off. Exceptional tiredness, limping one minute but not the next, bad headaches and worse tinnitus, difficulty with stiff feet etc so the doctor reduced it to 15 mg again and added SSZ. It's a nighmare.

in reply to springcross

Yep all those symptoms apart from tinnitus just appeared after 4/5 months of 20mg mtx

I wasn’t to good yesterday walk very little very tired but hopefully better today. I have had a funny throat like laryngitis voice a bit hoarse any ideas what this is. Hope you all have a descent day. πŸ™πŸ½

I think the throat thing is a common but little known symtpom. I have been getting it for years and I think it's to do with GERD reflux - apparently you don't even know it's happening. I go through phases where I am constantly clearing my throat. I was given some medication for this ages before my diagnosis and it worked like magic, but as it comes and gos I don't take it all the time.

in reply to Brychni

Yes GERD WILL CAUSE SORE THROAT. Like you Brychni comes and goes. Actually very bad Sunday and Monday now I’m like a zombie.. is this linked ??? Must keep an eye on it

Yes, I think it must be. I had it yesterday too. I think the inflammation must 'do the rounds' because for years I have had perfect sequences of large joint pain, severe neck pain, followed by toilet and bowel issues, followed by the sore throat and reflux thing, followed by flashes of finger joint pain. Past few days it feel like it's all coming at once and the swelling of my fingers which was once only really noticeable to me can now be seen by everyone. My elbows are warm too as are some of my hand and finger joints.

in reply to Brychni

Don’t tell us that in the information leaflets ...

I know, and then when we google we are made to feel as though we are obsessing but I hate the fact that we are told so little at diagnosis.

in reply to Brychni

Yes I’ve learnt more from this site and just by observing my own body. Before joining this site I thought I was a bit tapped 😁

Me too. We learn to live with all these different symptoms without any info at least instruction leaflets in Nearly all meds give every single Side effect and ask patients to notify on any additional side effects Which is helpful.πŸ™πŸ½

Can I ask what medication you had for GERD? I use Gaviscon Advance at night before I go to bed just in case as I hate it when you wake up in the middle of the night but the acid has already done it's bit in your gullet.

in reply to springcross

I’m now on lansoprazole ( this is good ) was on omeprazole but it stopped working even though I was on large doses.

I don't like taking PPIs as I have osteoporosis and that makes it worse if you are on them a long time.

Understand completely. Back to feeling like im walking awkwardly in treacle. I know a lot dont like the heat, but I am the opposite. Its past 9.30 and in bed. Body just not wanting to move. Its hard to adjust as its been so nice to feel almost normal.

All the best for things to improve for you.

Take it easy now lovely Sylvi. Relax after your hard work. I understand you though as potting and pruning give great relaxation too when your mind is calm and refreshed. I am going to have a chat to my flowers and seedlings and veggies soon and ensure they have enough to drink. Then some art. I’ve several vases of flowers (thank you hubby) and some rose casualties from the garden from the rain so lots to draw and paint. xxxx

My sympathies for you. A rest day, box set or books and a good cuppa may help. It's blooming wet here and don't I know it. I'm due to meet up with my son, 'cos it's his birthday. We're going to exercise his new dog, a retired racing greyhound, in a dog field near him. I'm creaking like an old gate and haven't yet bought something to sit on. This could be fun

in reply to Gnarli

Have a lovely day creaky 😁My greyhound is a retired racer they are a joy to watch running. We’ve trained Darcy to throw and catch a ball . Please post photos. Happy Birthday πŸ₯³ to your son best birthday present a greyhound πŸ₯°

Don’t fight it .. relax .. find a magazine to leaf through or a funny dvd to cheer you. It is close and humid and walking around when feeling under par isn’t easy. Tomorrow is a new day and hopefully you will feel much better.
