RD Cupid has taken aim

Just when you think you are getting somewhere along comes the RD Cupid.

Took the dog for a walk hadn’t realised how humid it was. Half way through the walk I was like a Popeye cartoon but instead of the biceps 💪 popping it was my fingers one by one . Now have ten fat sausages and the feet and ankles are joining in 🤬

Oh heck! This weather doesn't suit me either. No swelling but achy all over and toes that have decided to curl up. I'm doing the foot excercises religiously but, ooh, there they go again. I hope your sausage fingers shrink and the feet and ankles behave themselves asap

It’s a b****r isn’t it? I’m sorry you’re suffering.

My knees are playing up today, so joining my wrists, fingers and ankles. I wonder what will be next?!

At least we can all be miserable together

Not good... humid heat never agrees with me even pre RA. But it does not usually cause swelling like you describe.

in reply tocharisma

Always . On holiday in Greece last year it nearly killed me . OMG so swollen everywhere clothes and shoes even flip flops would not fit. My face was so swollen you could barely see my eyes. 10 days of hell honestly thought I would die. Never again

Awful! No point going to humid places if you can avoid it. It sounds like an allergy but you know what happens to you personally with humid weather. I hope your hands improve over the weekend.

So not good. ☹️. I have more swelling today too and looking like a beetroot as my lupus rash has joined in the party. 🙄. What a sight I must look today but determined to keep a smile on my face regardless. Had a little walk or should I say waddle out this morning but had to take my walking stick with me. Feeling emotionally better for having a little walk though so all worth it. I shall just go with the flow for the rest of the day. x

Take it easy today I am . I know this humidity it will take its toll no use fighting it . It will only make things worse xx

Would soaking your hands in cold water help the swelling go down?

in reply toBonnieG123

I do it eases a bit. When I go to devon I go in the sea about 6 times a day oh ..... I can feel my joints sighing 🥺not much chance of that at the moment. We had thunderstorms yesterday evening I had zero mobility. It’s unbelievable what the weather can do to us. Never mind it will pass

feel 4u [and with you] my fingers are crossing n freezing and ankles on the go again. Iboprufen gel used to help but avoid it now as not good for ? kidneys. However Biofreeze does help a bit herbal cooling stuff my chiro daughter uses; i also hold cumber slices onto wrists... sounds daft but worth a try. Miss the pool soooo much tho. Off for echocardiogram tomorrow which is a good sign. Hopefully am moving up the wait list for nxt infusion. xx

in reply toGranAmie

I use bio freeze and mini ice packs it does help the worst joints but with all of the flaring could do with a giant walk in freezer
