Looking good Allanah! Is that you on the scooter too? X
Put the photo up now. I have some on my scooter too ..maybe me?
Well it's a very glam lady on a scooter that looks like you with your photo above..I can't post it on here! X
Probably is then !but glamorous, at glasto, not often!! Usually mucky and windswept and sunstroke or rain splattered!!
Oh yes..we live not far from it, sounds like a true British summer!
It's a gorgeous area xx
So yes Attitudeiseverything.org.uk help people get to festivals and live gigs. They help us put up tents, buses to get around, scooter hire, showers, medical areas, cut through areas to avoid crowds and viewing platforms so you dont get bashed in the crowd and can sit down and see the stage. Would recommend them !
Thank you so much for the information, I have started following them on Instagram. They sound like a fantastic organisation, like you there's many of us thst enjoy live music and why should that stop because we have a health condition or disability. Xx
Fab photo! Better times!! X
Fab photo! And, better times!! X
Allanah that’s a beautiful photo! I was going to volunteer with Attitude is Everything this year, good to hear what a great organization they are. It would be so nice to be able to do something with people with RA X
Thanks for sharing this. Taking off my NRAS hat, one of the things I am looking forward to is going to music festivals here in the UK. Are there extra tickets allocated for people with disabilities or is it assistance you ask for after you get tickets?
Australia has had a new festival in the last few years called abilityfest (also on Insta), founded by 2 time paralympian, world champion wheelchair tennis player Dylan Alcott, but I havent had the chance to go. YET
It starts early on, you can apply for accessible tickets and in many cases a free carer ticket at many sites and theatres now , Attitude work with people to get their websites easily used by those with disabilities or hearing problems.
Then they use mystery shoppers and gig goers to assess the building and theg visit to ensure it's up to a good standard and the venue gets a reward say Glastonbury gas gold , leeds silver etc
Then at festivals for example they organize for example a bus to get you from the car park to the disabled camping site and each festival has it's own facilities for disabled people. So some have buses, scooters , some are smaller but can help you set up camp etc . Look on the attitudeiseverything.org.uk site for lots of info or call them, they are lovely x
PM me for more info. Ps claire did a article about us a few years back !
