I have occasionally missed my mtx. Especially when on Antibiotics. Been off them for 3-4 weeks sometimes. As Mtx usually takes 12 weeks to kick in, missing one dose won't make any difference. Just take your dose as usual the following week.

For about 7 years I was totally dedicated to taking my MTX every week at exactly the same time etc etc. Anyway, in the last couple of years I have become thoroughly wicked, and have missed a week here and there (not often, maybe 2 or 3 times a year). For example when going on a week’s holiday and not wanting to take it with me. And the effect? Absolutely none! A one week break made no difference at all.

Like HH, I no longer fret about missing a week - if I’m going away for instance - the M/X keeps a level in your system so doesn’t stop working altogether so quickly.

After 10 years on MTX (dose currently 20mg) I've purposefully missed injecting the odd week & needed to if I've been prescribed specific antibiotics, never had any problems, no change in general control. It's only after 3 weeks I notice things going awry, 3 months & I'm out of control & in full flare! Obviously it's not advisable to take things in our own hands so not a good idea to halt it on a regular basis. I used to ask if it was ok but after so long on it I'm given some responsibility to know how long is too long! 😏
