Hello all... Hope you are doing the best you can in these tough times...
I am still frustrated, no diagnosis and now on Amitriptyline! Anyone else been given this for pain?... it doesnt seem to be working for me... and all i am told is to take paracetamol... I dont get upset very often by the pain, but i had a meltdown on Monday..
I have a phone appt tmoro with Doc, but all she is bothered about are my bloods.. that to her always "seem ok"

I was prescribed amitriptyline to help me sleep in the early days. After a while I didn't need it until broken sleep was making life difficult and I started it again. It also stopped the painful cramps in my feet at night.
So sorry to hear you had a meltdown, it must be so frustrating for you. I've never taken amitriptyline but wanted to say before your appointment tomorrow make a list of things you want to say to get the most from your telephone appointment and I hope that you are able to get something prescribed that will suit you better and enable you get some relief. Take care
I am so sorry you are having such a tough time bless you. Can’t completely understand why you had a melt down.
I’m afraid I have nothing useful to say but really hope your telephone consultation goes ok for you tomorrow. Pip’s suggestion of having some questions to hand is a good one.
Really hope your telephone consultation is useful for you tomorrow and ways forward can be explore for you.
Do let us know how you get on won’t you. Will be thinking of you. x
Thank you for your lovely message. My consultation was the same as always, but at least she has done me a referral to a Rheumatologist! At last! in the meantime, under observation i can go back onto my anti inflammatory tabs. I feel better just a little stir crazy as my 12 week letter came a few weeks ago from my sarcoid consultant...
Hi I've been taking Amitriptyline for many years of a night time to help sleep, plus Co-Codemol 2-three times a day. I think I've been taken them for too long as they do not help like they used to. But have had many injections over the years and they do help for a while.
I have been taken off them after docs appt yesterday. Back on my old meds as long as i keep having regular bloods as they play my kidneys up a little...
Hi Nikki, just wanted to say a massive sorry as just read my message back and it should have said I CAN completely understand why you had a meltdown. I am so sorry for my typing error.
