Hi I was supposed to start on 10 mg mxt last Sunday night but I came down with a heavy cold and a productive cough last Saturday so I thought I would leave it until this Sunday , but alas I am still pretty bunged up , I’m ok no temp or anything but my thoughts were to let my immune system clear it first , I am still on 400 hydroxy ,i had a steroid inj 9 days ago , not that it’s done much good this time , but I’m not in to much pain either , I know you can’t give medical advice but do you think I have been to cautious , I don’t know 🤷‍♀️

Sometimes you just have to follow your gut instinct.

Yep I think so to Lily , I think it's more of a sinus thing going on so i'm not going to risk taking the mtx until it's clear typical isn't it , you stay safe too x

I haven’t taken mine for a few weeks as been unwell. Now I assume I’ll take it again as normal this week.

I tend to suffer with sinus or chest infections after having a particularly heavy cold. If I do start with a nasty cold then I stop taking methotrexate and Benapali in an attempt to avoid the cold developing into a more severe infection. This generally works however I did develop a chest infection last summer and needed antibiotics. I don’t stop the drugs for minor colds and sniffles. My R.A. seems not to flare up until I have been without these drugs for a fortnight.

Hope you recover soon, some of these winter colds are hanging around for a few weeks and they can be miserable.

My Rheumatologist said even a cold I should not take methotrexate until it has cleared as it could make cold worse by suppressing the immune system. Other rheumatologist say different 🤷🏽‍♀️
