Hi warriors.. Again 😁

The rheumatology nurse phoned me yesterday and said they need me in tomorrow (Friday) for a steroid injection and to start treatment. She mentioned sulfasalazine and maybe another dmard.

Hoping this works well and I can get back to work soon, but still really worried about doing damage to my joints. Is it even possible to damage joints if my inflammation goes down?

There is a lot of lifting in my job but my manager is brill and says I don't need to lift heavy items and I can just stay on the tills. As some of you may know even on the tills you have to lift heavy items to scan them and put them in bags for the customer.

I like my job and I miss the social aspect of it (work mates, customers etc) so really don't know what to do as I've been on ssp for the past 3 months already. Sore hands everyday 😩

Gentle hugs ❤️

I know what working on tills is like it is hard work, but rewarding as people are so nice and I have had a laugh or two when I was working.xxx

Hi sylvi did you carry on in retail or did you do something else instead?

I came out of retail, then went into catering which I loved, but thanks to my fingers I had to quit and I ended up in a office until I got made redundant and I haven't worked since.xxxx

I was made redundant 10yrs ago and I was told by my remploy advisor at the time I wasn't fit for work and sad to say I couldn't do a days work no if I tried. I was very disappointed to be honest at the time. I am 65yr this August so who would employ me with my health darling.xxxx

Ah right I didn't realise you were 65. Damn arthritis! I remember my mum retiring early through ill health, she had knee replacements but her feet never got better. Hope I can go on for a few years yet..

I am old in body not in mind. I have a good outlook on life, if I am going to suffer like this I am going to look good at it, hence why my hair is multi coloured and the same with my nails, also I wear a lot of pink.xxx

Get missing the social aspect of work. Let the steroid do it’s job you should get

Immediate relief . When things settle down try a phased return . The steroid with a bit of luck tied you over till your DMARDS work. Good luck with your DMARDS
