Hi everyone, I’m new to being on Methortextrate so here it goes. Ive had RA for about 12 years and Osteoarthritis for 6. I started the M pills for almost 2 months now, very tired for two days after. Ive been coloring my hair for years, now my hair isn’t taking a color at all. Has anyone had this problem

No.....I coloured my hair regularly for 7 years on Mtx with no problem.

If your natural hair is grey...you might need to speak to the manufacturer of the colour you use as grey hair is resistant to some chemicals.

Or you could ask a hairdresser..

I use the same color for years, I even tried a new shade just to see if it’s the manufacturer. I asked hairdresser she said that some meds do react to hair product

No problem. I used a natural dye amazon.co.uk/Its-Pure-Organ...

But only occasionally. Hair loss was more of a problem for me.

Interesting. I have colored my hair for a long time, now my oncologist told me to stop. It's too inflammatory to have the chemicals on your skin so long.

Thanks for posting this Nansea. I,ve been on Methotrexate for about 9 x months & have been using the same hair colour for about three years however when I had it done recently it just does,nt look the same. Dull, lifeless and quite artificial looking. I thought she had given me a different one. This probably explains it.

My hair color was light blonde now it is dull and a med blonde with no life to it. Thank you, this medicine is driving me crazy always tired and drained

I never had any problems with hair colour while on methotrexate. Lots of other problems, but not that!

Funny you should say about the hair colour as I’ve just noticed the same thing. I’ve been using same colour for years and now it’s not doing anything.
