Benepali and TIA symptoms

Hi

I have been on Benepali 3 years now.

Over last two weeks I have developed symptoms similar to a TIA. Weakness, numbness and tingling in arm and dizzy spells. After advice from NHS24 I was admitted to hospital for some checks. Now awaiting TIA clinic to rule out TIA.

Wondering if anyone on here has had a similar issue.

I hope that you have good news from the results and that it is not a TIA.

We do tend to blame our medication for everything that happens to us - it could be totally unrelated?

I agree. That said the Benepali leaflet lists such symptoms as possible serious side effects of the drug. Hopefully not a TIA. Not sure what will happen if not TIA? Will Rheumy decide I need to stop Benepali ? It has been a wonder med for me so far.

I’m sorry, James. That sounds worrying but glad they’re investigating. Have you spoken to your rheum or rheum nurse? It sounds pretty urgent that they do know what’s happening to make a decision about your meds.
