An unwanted Christmas present!

Just when I thought I was doing so well I have been laid low by a rotten cold and chest infection! After 18 months on Tocilizumab with never a sniffle it had to come to ruin my Christmas! Crawled round to very sympathetic GP and crawled even more slowly to pharmacy for antibiotics. Think I will come to a completer standstill in M and S but hey a girls got to do what a girl has to do!

Hope all of you have a good and healthy Christmas - and forget diets etc, just for a couple of days

I sympathise Pat as I’m in the same boat. Had some antibiotics but still 🤧and coughing up stuff and saw the GP this morning who thinks I’ve got pleurisy ☹️

Had to cancel my trip to the beauty parlour this morning ☹️ and this afternoon’s dental appointment For fillings 😀.

Feeling rather sorry for myself today 😢but hope to feel well enough to do justice to the lovely food and drink my daughter will be providing on Christmas Day. 🎄🎁🍾🍷🍗🍽

Hope you feel better soon too.

🥺🥺🥺the disease that keeps on giving even at Christmas. Buy yourself a treat in M&S you deserve it .. Hope you feel better quickly.🎄🎄

Poor you ,I've had this nasty virus for 2wks ,coughing and blocked sinuses and just when I thought it had gone back comes the cough. Haven't seen my GP, appointments like gold dust, so been trying to fight it off with over the counter meds. Atleast the worst is over in time for Christmas with the grandsons.

Hope you manage to get through next couple of days without too much suffering. 🎄🎅

There is no point seeing your GP, if it’s a virus ....unless you start spiking a temperature & having breathing difficulties indicating you may have developed a bacterial infection.

But do speak to your local pharmacist ....they are very well versed with coughs and cold at this time of year, and they know what OTC drugs you can take alongside your RA drugs.... or more importantly say you do need to see a doctor.

In which case if you telephone 111 they can arrange a GP appointment in your area with another GP if your GP has no emergency appointments.

Hope you feel better soon and can enjoy your turkey(or your nut roast)

Everyone who catches colds easily should try the old trick of Vaseline in your nostrils.

Not foolproof but it does catch some of those bugs!
