Hi everyone, I am asking AGAIN for the fruits of your wisdom and experience. Can anyone recommend a lightweight steam iron as my current one has become too heavy for me?

Thank you.

I had the same problem. I chose to give up ironing!

Good luck with your hunt.

The best thing I find to do is go to a big shop where you can lift and try the buttons on electrical items. My iron is light but it might not be light to you. Try before you buy 😊

Some good suggestions here. Always good to try before you buy as Kitty J says what may be light for me might not be for you. When I am able to iron I have a Philips Featherlight plus, but again as Lolabridge says if you can get away with ironing some things then do. Good Luck in finding something nice and light. Best Wishes.

I got a Bosch sensixx DA30. It has a good long flex and is the lightest one I could find. Still blitzes the creases well, even when its only half full of water to cut down the weight. Hope this helps x

Hi Dayli I gave up ironing a while back and I must admit I could kick myself for all the hours I have wasted in my life when I used to do it 🤭

I used a travel iron on a reflective ironing board but now my oh does the ironing.

I don't iron anymore. I have an iron for emergencies tho. I would suggest a travel iron or a steamer that steams out wrinkles.

Hi Dayli. I know this might sound daft but when I broke my shoulder in June obviously I used my other hand but after a while it occurred to me I might be better if I lowered the ironing board a bit. Worked a treat. Can’t recommend a lightweight iron. I use a rowenta steam generator. Expensive layout but I do my ironing in a quarter of the time and to a high standard. Good luck.

Try a hand held steamer (maybe travel size), this is okay for items that dont need much work, but not so good if you need to press in fine creases for shirts and trousers, but you can use sitting down and it’s light, just need to keep a supply of deionised water.

I went to Currys and tried them all out. I only ever buy a cheap one as I find they don't last longer than a year with me 👖👚👗👔👕

I don't iron anymore either. I gave it up over 20 years ago , no one seems to have noticed.
