Hi all. I have broken my leg 3 times. Thigh. It's been 4 months and im wondering if i could step on floor but im scared... im living in nightmares cant stop thinking of the most painful thing in the world-broken thigh.
Should i try to walk? Some docs says i can walk no worries, some says not yet. Funny when i heard 2 versions from Orthopedic Docs. Please encourage me to walk and say i could walk normally and wont break my bone again. The implant inside my thigh is a long steel rod, unlike plates. 1st and 2nd was plates, now the rod is stronger than both. I wanted to walk but im too scared to break my bone again. I became a coward since i broke my bone 3 times.

You're, certainly, no coward. If the experts can't decide which is best, then I can understand why you are worried. How are you getting around, at the moment? Are you using two crutches and swinging your leg?
Yes two crutches. I can move my leg freely. 2 weeks ago i went to a minor surgery remove 1 screw from the rod due to loosen and got out half way. I haven't remove the stitches yet. 3 stitches. I cant wait to walk. And im the breadwinner of my family,4kids. I have to work thats the reason i wanted to walk but afraid of breaking my bone again.
Hiya Daniel. Whilst I can understand your angst we're not the ones to ask or give opinion I’m afraid. Only the medical professionals who care for you can, they're the ones who see you in real life so to say. Not helpful if their advice is contradictory so understand why you may ask others the question but we really aren’t able to advise, I'm sorry.
What does your Rheumy say, you don't mention that? He forms part of your overall care so his input may help. Or, have you asked the question over at HU Bone Health healthunlocked.com/bonehealth? They may be more experienced in multiple bone breaks & aresulting metalwork related to recovery.
I wish you well & that you soon are able to walk sans crutches.
We really can’t advise you.....I see you live in Malaysia...I wonder if any other member on here lives there or anyone knows who usually overseas post surgery queries like yours.
Well Daniel, as two of our, more experienced, members say, above, we aren't qualified to answer your query, but I would certainly be challenging my doctors as to why they differ in their answers to you. I wish you goodvluck, and hope you are off the crutches soon.
Have you been referred to a physio, they may be able to say when it safe to walk, exercises to build up the muscles. A very difficult situation for you. All best wishes. X
