Thanks to everyone who supported me in my previous post regarding my first appointment with a rheumatologist. I was a tad nervous seeing this guy and I stuttered through my symptoms..long story short he gave me 2 pred injections into my shoulders and told me to come back in 3 months, that I had not got RA. Delighted with the news and relieved I got great relief in the shoulders head and neck, not so with hands, arms , feet etc. Pain, numbness, pains and needles, brain fog etc continued. So I went for a second opinion, what a difference this guy listened to me, spoke with me and reassured me. He has confirmed onset of RA and started me on Plaquenil 200mg and Ixprim for pain relief. Were it not for this forum I would not have had the confidence to go further with this issue and assert myself. Many thanks to you all for information provided and support.

👍 this forum has given me confidence too

Hello dear, I liked your comment because by being proactive you now have a firm diagnosis and a treatment plan. But I don't like the fact that you do have RA. Please continue to post here to let us know how you get on. :-)

Good news you found a good rheumy....sad it is RA...but as you have an early diagnosis & have started treatment you should have a very good prognosis!

It does make you wonder though how some doctors can practice as Rheumatologists........when they can’t recognise it......... 🤯

Yes..it has taken awhile. The second rheumatologist looked at my bloods, my history and my hands and called it ..I am glad to be off prednisone now 😀

Wish I could be off the prednisone!

Been seeing my RA dr since late 2017 and he has pumped almost every

DMRAD and biological for TNF, IL-6 and JAK inhibitors and even brought out the big guns...IV Infusion!

Nothing he has tried has worked to be able to get me off this darned nightmare of prednisone! Doses as high as 20-30mg per day!!

Been on it for months and months and months and now have Cushingoid!
