Everyone is different in how their body copes with MTX and fighting a cold virus. Most people get over a cold ok, perhaps it might last a day or two longer than normal, but there is a virus doing the rounds that is lasting a couple of weeks. All you can do are the usual things when you have a cold, keep warm, hot drinks , paracetamol. Just take care if you feel you are getting a chest infection contact your GP.

I had a cold couple of weeks ago, just so happened doctor had phoned about hubby blood test results, asked if I should take mtx and he said miss dose for the week. Best to ask your doctor or rheumy though. My cold lasted about 10 days.

I'm the same I've had a cold now for almost 2 weeks, went to the gp they weren't a great help. I've just been trying to take it easy and plenty of pain relief. Awful having a cold this time of year. Hope you feel better soon.

You will get better but unfortunately, once on MXT I found that my colds took weeks to get better. My Rheumy said the MXT make it harder to get over infections so usually once I got a cold, chest infection, anything along that line they would stop MXT until I was better. Have a word with your Nurse specialist or Rheumy.
