Hi Honey. Please don’t worry. I had a full replacement hip at our hospital recently (same ward you will be on) and the care and support I received were amazing. Everyone from the first minute of my stay was professional, helpful and focussed on getting me well quickly. No real pain issues as they monitor that so well ....and.....they give you a daily menu for lunch and evening meal that’s better than many restaurants I’ve been to!

My drugs were well monitored and both the orthopaedic and rheumatoid consultants worked together to get my biological drugs back on track ASAP.

The physio makes sure you are able to cope before you come home and all the aids you will need are supplied.

Try not to worry, you don’t need to, and do let us know how you get on?

Warmest wishes, Lesley

Had mine 4th March, able to drive in 3weeks, walked 2 miles every day about the same time, am now walking 5/6 miles a day! Best thing I ever did😁 so all the very best, take the meds you will be given as the first few days are pretty sore, oh did have a big flare after about 9 weeks, delayed doing anything about it for to long, have been on prednisone so that’s now sorted! Do let us know how you are when you feel up to it! X

July 25th was the earliest they could get me in. But of course with everything going on, they have to run 5 million tests... :)

Good luck. I had mine done 4 years ago, and have never regretted it. As others have said, persevere with the exercises, and take all the pain relief offered so that you can do them.

I will never forget what a massive relief it was, to be rid of the excruciating pain that I had been suffering.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery M xx
