I’ve had my first cycle of Truxima and it already seems to be working for me. I’m not needing painkillers and even the swelling in my hands and fingers seems less. My daughter noticed my walking gait is “less like a penguin now” (cheeky madam!) and although I can’t walk far yet I’m not needing to use a walking stick. I can even cope with the stairs at home and only use the stairlift if I’m tired or have a lot to carry.
This is all such an improvement for me and I do hope it lasts. After a year of struggling I had become very despondent but staying hopeful with this condition is so important.

Everything I have read on Rtx Truxima seems to indicate it works as well as the original RtxMabthera...which I have been on very successfully for three years.
I now only need an infusion on demand rather than regularly every six months.
The only negatives I have read about Truxima are when you switch from the original Mabthera to the Bio similar.
good for you! i had my 1st [of 2nd year] infusion yesterday and slept then from 5-8pm, then 10pm -7am and no after effects, so feeling good and touching wood. my poor reaction to my very 1st dose was prob due to apprehension - and the protocol, paracetamol, then steroid drip, then antihistamine , all this b4 the 'real' stuff. 2nd dose in 2-3 wks the nowt for hopefully 11-12 months.:}. do you get the same protocol? Where are you? x

I saw an old post of yours and was amazed to see the list of foods you’ve been told to avoid. I was not told anything like that. I have not been able to avoid using some ready meals as hands too bad to prepare and cook for myself. I do try to buy good quality stuff though and choose organic produce when I can. I did manage to make some spaghetti bolognese this week by buying ready prepared and chopped vegetables.
You are obviously much more mobile than me ... I can’t stand for long and can only walk very short distances. Still the first cycle of Truxima is beginning to work and I’m hopeful I will improve further in the coming weeks.
I’m finding I’m suffering from fatigue and brain fog though, affecting my performance at the Bridge table!
B12, B12, B12 for brain fog ... it works well, I get hi strength from healthspan and will try to send £5 off voucher to you. You sound like me in 2015... came home end june in w/chair for 50th anniversary river cruise, came back walking cautiously and onto MTX that september.. back in w/chair nxt march or was it 2017? as they took away MTX {lungs} but got lung function back by singing badly n swimming slowly. survived on 50% sulfa until last july .. 1st truxima then and doing pretty ok now, so hope it will be the same for you. Portsmouth! I'm from B'mouth but for my sins and an ulsterman have been in Belfast for nearly 54 years... as a homeopath wd say ... a difficult transplant.
