Shortage of medication

Just wondered if anyone has been told this, with no date of when the medication is ever going to be delivered!!!

It's been nearly 8 weeks waiting for my biologic. Just think it fickle for my rheumatologist to recommend something that the pharmacist state they can not get due to a shortage. I would never off known had I not called them enquiring about my delivery date.

It's making me look into other means as feeling disillusioned with it all.

Must be frustrating. Whilst you are waiting for standard medicines, it might be worth trying out a few supplements to see if they benefit. Such as curcumin with pepper, boswellia, Fisetin, black seed oil and bicarbonate of soda. Try a food eliminating diet to see if these benefit your symptoms.

Yes but not for an RA medication. I was advised it was a community issue and still available in hospital so had to ask Consultant for hospital script, then filled ok so might be worth asking still in hospital .

Hi - thanks for your swift reply. My rheumatologist from the hospital requested from Lloyds pharmacy (prefer Healthcare at Home) - it is them causing the major issues here through sheer incompetence and major flaws. I think our hospital is looking to drop them to be honest as too many complaints. Hope you are good.

Try going to a bigger pharmacy to fulfil your prescription - larger Boots have better access (and stores) of drugs in some cases. Give one of them a call and see?

Hi CafneysMum -thank you for your response. I can only get this biologic through my hospital who use the arm of Lloyds Pharmacy Clinical Homecare (their reviews are atrocious). I am just piggy in the middle waiting to hear from my rheumatologist and the chap at the hospital who manages all medicines via these imbeciles, I did ask him whether he could source elsewhere, it seems not. So right now in Limbo 😔 Thanks for the suggestion, I only wish it was that easy. Take care.

I see, sorry.

No need to apologise. I didn't realise Lloyds Pharmarcy dealt with this side of things, the same as Healthcare at Home who are extremely good. Lloyd's need to give up this side of things, they are causing a lot of people pain and stress. Have a lovely day now, 😌⛅

Recently I had problems getting hrt from Lloyds. The doctors surgery phoned several independent chemists who were able to get it as they are not tied to certain suppliers in the way Lloyds is. Might be worth trying small independent pharmacies.

Hi Taurea - it has to come through Lloyds HomeCare the hospital signed a contract with them. Thanks
