Humira prefilled injections

Hello dear friends from across the sea. It's been quite awhile since I've read posts, commented or posted anything myself. I really went through a severe depression in that we couldn't find any meds to help with my RD pain and on an unrelated issue, my Tinnitus kept getting louder and louder. My rheumy did try me on Xeljanz with a sample bottle he gave me. Taking it for one month didn't really improve any of my pain and my insurance wouldn't allow me to try it for another month or two to truly give it a try. In December my pain levels were hideous and we were considering shoulder replacement. Later in December I finally was approved for a breast reduction (after 3 years of trying to get the surgery approved ). My neck started feeling better within a few weeks of rehab and steroid injections, and after some additional steroid injections in both shoulders, they are feeling better, too.

All of this was not in a vacuum, about the same time my insurance finally approved Injectable Humira!!!! I can't tell you how much better I feel!!

When I wake up in the morning I can actually move my fingers and make a fist. I do my stretching exercises all over before I take that first step. It still really hurts...my feet, my hips, knees, even my shoulders....BUT, it doesn't last for hours and hours like it did before. Before when I hurt so much I felt like my life was coming to an end. I was becoming bed bound in that most days if I did get out of bed it was only for a few minutes here and there. Now, I feel I have more energy so I'm not feeling bed bound as I was before. Yay!!

I wish my rheumy would have let me try this sooner. For two full years when he tested my blood for disease activity it went up each time. I guess I don't need to figure out why he prescribed what he did for so long because I finally feel optimistic! I truly am thanking the good Lord above for all these improvements, too. I hope I am not simply enjoying a honey moon phase. I know things can change and meds need to be tweaked from time to time and that's okay. I just wanted to share my good news. I sincerely hope improvement and pain partially free days are things you all are experiencing, too.

xxxooo

Hey Lori, so glad the humira is working for you!

I just started taking it a week ago.. have been feeling so exhausted and drained on it. Did you feel anything like that in your first couple of week?

xxx thanks Noura

Hi Noura, Yes, my fatigue seems worse since I've been on Humira. I thought perhaps it could be that I am noticing the fatigue more because my pain has lessened. I am also doing more now that my pain seems to be more regularly confined to nights and mornings. I'm hoping that those pain periods can be improved, but for now the improvement for me is dramatic so I'll take the fatigue over the pain if it must be.

I hope you can get some relief soon. You might want to check with your doctor if you continue have concerns about it.

Hugs and blessings,

Lori
