How can I be feeling 100% good one day and the next crying with leg and foot pain unable to clean up after dinner? Then hours later ok again? What the heck!

I know exactly what you mean. I felt great yesterday and went for a walk, climbing (slowly) up to a church on a hill with super views in all directions. Had time to read a couple of short stories in the evening and went to bed feeling pleasantly tired and a bit achy ....then the pain started in my feet and hands, then my back and couldn't sleep for ages. Had to take extra pain killers. Woke up this morning feeling like never getting out of bed again, but had to because it was blood test day...

I’m an old timer, too. Hate not being able to do things I’d like to do.

It’s all too common it seems. Sad to hear your woes. I’m the same, think I’m feeling good and off I go, I can walk, yay, do too much which isn’t much at all really and pay big time for the next day or so. I just take prednisone now down to 4mg a day and pain killers. Don’t know if I’m doing the night thing or not but dmards made me sick and didn’t work much anyway.

Hears to a sunny day and another walk and no pain. Hugs to you

Nice to know I’m not alone but sad that we all have to face this “beast.”

So difficult to get family to understand too at times. My brother had a lung transplant yrs ago. I felt both elated and jealous. Where oh where is my body transplant? 25 years now...Sometimes I feel cheated out my supposed right to be well and other times I am grateful that it is not worse

. I feel for you. Right now I am surrounded by unfinished chores and it really does help that I have this site and can read all the wise loving comments.

That's what I hate about RA/D, I sometimes forget I have it then there’s that slap that's says I’m still here! Had a super day yesterday, I was stupid and just had to eat my freshly baked homemade bread, could not resist - I am now laying up in my bed with tender points in fingers and ankles..😕.... However, my bread was delicious, served with goats cheese and homemade marmalade, along with happy kids too 😁

Do u think eating the bread has caused your pain today? I never knew that bread could do this.

To be honest I am not sure, as I had cut out gluten and wheat as read bad for RA and inflammation. I should mention, despite cutting out this stuff, my inflammatory markers where sky high. I recently had an allergy test which showed I am susceptible to Wheat! So this disease has made me somewhat paranoid 😕.

I have a new view for 2019 and shall be eating a bit of everything in moderation - hence indulged in my homemade bread!

I’ve tried the gluten free route but no real help found. Good luck Hessie5. Homemade bread sounds so good.

Yes I think it's more about your sensitivity to wheat and your paranoia. Personally I don't think food makes your RA worse.

Wheat can. In bread. White breads are the worst.

Hasn't made me worse so not convinced

The Pattison Program seems to indicate dairy is the worst, but I don’t know what evidence backs that up...

I will have to look into the Pattinson program. I don’t do much dairy as I am lactose intolerant. But I do love ice cream but only a few brands work ok for me. Like Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia, a treat I allow myself every month or so. 😊

The more full fat a dairy product is, the more tolerable for someone who is lactose intolerant (I am also).

I did not know that. Thank you.

A2 is the best for us sufferers and hard cheese like Parmesan the most tolerated so I believe. I cut bread and any white carbs from my diet. Also pork is meant to be inflammatory. I paid for my indulgences over the festive season, particularly with the ham.

I find the living day to day hard, can’t make plans as one day your great, maybe even for 3 days then it hits you like a ton of bricks and I can get out of bed, well I don’t want to get out anyway sometimes lol. Take care.
