Sore hands

Hi just thought I would ask if any one gets a burning feeling in there hands and numb fingers, I have never had this numb feeling before I am used to swollen really painful hands this feels different any advise, I just hope it passes before Christmas Day

I had similar symptoms to this which started about 3 months ago. Pain in my hands and wrists especially when asleep and numbness with pins and needles in four of my fingers. The doctor sent me for tests and I have severe Carpal Tunnel in my left hand and moderate in my right. I will be having a small operation in January as the splints didn't improve it.

Thank you I have the hospital after Christmas and will let them know maybe it is carpal tunnel, I must say it is worse than the swollen painful hands it feels so different, happy christmas x

My rheumy explained it’s another symptom of my RA. She said that my elbow is inflamed and it’s swollen and there’s a nerve that runs in between some bones in the joint and the nerve is getting squeezed. My pinky finger and the ring finger next to it have been numb for about 4 weeks now. It also feels like pins and needles. Sorry you’re going through it too.

Thank you I will tell them when I go to the hospital p, I just think of the people who have this pain all the time I feel for them x

Hi glad I read your post,have the same thing the little finger and one next to it numb and pins and needles, they did every test on me ,insisted I had CTS and I knew I hadn't lol..also inflamed elbow and shoulder. They think hand coming from elbow lol...not sure they ever know just keep guessing and trying ha ha xx

Hi thanks for the reply but my little finger feels okay it is all the others thankfully my fingers are beginning to feel better but my wrist is still painful also my elbow and shoulder are ok at the moment I hope it gets better for you soon x

Hi Tillie29, I have this along with swelling, redness and disfigured fingers. I am also type 2 diabetic and my Rheumy thinks there’s Diabetic Neuropathy causing some of it too, but I think you can get Neuropathy from RA too or could be Carpel Tunnel. I’d see Rheumy or GP ASAP. Hope it resolves soon for you.

Thank you, I know that this is not the same feeling of swollen red itchy pain and this different pain numbness that I normally get, it had to happen at this time of year, but I have the hospital on 31st so will let them know about it, thank goodness I have a few different pain killers that must mask some of the pain but I wish it would mask all the pain but I still think I am lucky other people have this worse than me, happy Christmas X

Hope they sort it for you, ice I find helps, but not for too long. You can get a Freeze Spray which takes the edge off a little, but doesn’t last. I’m using CBD Balm finding a little relief, but not been using for long so early days. Merry Xmas & hoping for a much better New Year.

Hi I have just been out shopping and went to boots I got deep freeze roll when you put it on it feels great for a while and,then wears off but I will try anything spent so much money on things for RA but nothing really works until it passes which seems to be happening now fingers not so sore or burning now but still stiff and wrist is still sore but the burning sensation is going horrible having RA and having to ask for help for everything as it is my right hand X

I had the same symptoms and I had Carpel Tunnel the RA was inflaming my wrist and squashing nerves, had surgery last year and all is good now. Hope you get it sorted. Xx
