PIP - here we go again!

Hi everyone , I've not been on for a while but now I'm going thru the reassessment process for PIP. Some of you may remember the nightmare when I originally applied for it 3 years ago. Anyway, due to me having mental health problems as well as RA, the whole thing is more complicated. I had help this time from CAB to fill in forms, that was mid October. Not a word from them until yesterday, when I gets a phone call telling me that the 'health professional' doing the face to face assessment is coming on FRIDAY morning!!!! THIS Friday morning!! Talk about panic.... Felt I couldn't really refuse this date, as would be waiting weeks for another. So I'm knee deep in Christmas preparations, full of the cold to boot, and they give me 2 days notice!!!! Anyway I just wanted to ask you all to please think about me at 10am on Friday! Thanks.

Oh I will be Sheena love. I do remember last time, try not to dwell on that for now though & don't be rushing around tidying up & cleaning everything till it sparkles either even if you are able & even though it is such short notice. I do think it's not at all on this lot minute tack they seem to be on just now. We recently had another member sent an unrealistic appointment date too, that was at an assessment centre though. Are you able to have anyone be with for your home visit being such short notice?

It goes without saying I hope for the most positive outcome for your needs. Keep us updated won't you? x

Thanks NMH, yes I will have someone with me this time, don't like the word 'carer' so call her my general dogsbody! She's lovely. Fingers crossed for a less stressful time.

Good luck, I had my home assessment yesterday, I was so anxious as my last one was so horrific, the lady that came this time was so nice, she listened and really made me feel at ease so a much better experience than the last, I just hope she was genuine, hope all goes well. Xx

Good luck scotslass. I will be thinking of you on friday morning. I sent my renewal form in on 7th Nov but not heard a dickie bird yet. No news is good news in my case. Can't stand the thought of it. Please let us know how it goes. Best Wishes xx

Will think of u. Those assessments so long and stressful. Just be yourself and tell it like it is. U don't really need much notice to prepare for a face to face as u just talk through what u have already told them on the form. Good luck.

Still waiting for decision, could be 4-6 weeks yet. That's the worst part and it's high time they found a way to reduce this waiting time. I feel like my life's on hold, can't make plans till I get the verdict.
