Benepali and erythromycin.

Just wondering if anyone knows,can we take erythromycin whilst on benepali. I ring my rhuemy advice line today,am awaiting a call back. But i have an ear infection and need to take this antibiotic. So have started it. But tomorrow is my injection day. May leave it for this week. I just hope this helps. I can't open my mouth fully and my ear is all funky n stinky. Aches too. Not sure if I am doing the right thing as last time I had 2 weeks off of medication I ended up in a wheelchair. So I am a little dubious as to what to do for the best results. Any advice is welcomed. Dont know about that particular antibiotic. I've just finished amoxicillin for an ear and sinus infection. I stopped injection for a week. The nurse told me I didn't have to, but I stopped anyway.

Try calling your pharmacy...if you get no joy there try 111..... They are very helpful.

I find call backs take forever.

I wonder why the NHS don't use email? Surely much faster, & it's there in front of you.....don't have keep checking answe phone in case you missed their call.

I have always been told not to take my biologic while on an antibiotic. Was never onbenepali, but was on etanercept plus 4 others. Does make sense when you realise that an antibiotic boost the immune system to fight infection, and the biologic suppresses your immune system.

As far as I know you can't take your injection while on benepali I'm off for a op and have to stop it two weeks before hope this helps xxx

Hey, call your pharmacy and ask them. They should have a list of your meds that you take. that's your best bet. Even doctors don't know whether there will be an interaction but the pharmacist will. Any pharmacist can help you if you give him the list of you meds.
