Hello all

I think this has been posted before but can’t find the thread.

I am going on holiday soon and need to take my benepali injections with me

How do you keep it cold ( refrigerated) while traveling?

It is only a short flight 3 hours

I have a letter from HCH to show customs

Any advice is welcomed

Brian

You don't need to keep it refrigerated, but just need to keep it below 25 degrees as it is ok out of the fridge for four weeks. (But you mustn't refrigerate it again). And keep it in your hand luggage as it mustn't go in the hold of a plane - too cold.

Give the company that delivers it to you a phone and have them send you a letter to confirm your prescription. Health Care at Home advised me to take a letter along with me and quickly sent one out. I have never been asked for it at any airport but Manchester took my carry on bag aside and examined the contents, needles and other drugs, with there drug sniffing tool, lol.

Hi, I had letter with MXT injections because they are not to go into the hold or through the X-ray machine, I handed them over when bags go through X-ray machinge they took them away for a few minutes and them brought the. Back all was ok. Hope you get on ok.

We travelled recently... with the aim of keeping the medicine in the range of 2-7deg. (a dress rehearsal for a longer trip where having to keep it at <25deg for 4 weeks would be a bit of a pain).

We used a small insulated bag plus a careful arrangement of ice-packs and towels, finding that some adjustment from time to time was necessary to maintain the range....

We were able to continuously monitor the temperature of the medicine using a small low-power bluetooth data logger - amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07...

...which proved a truly awesome bit of kit (about size of £2 coin) - and wonderful reassurance... whatever approach you go for knowing the temperature history of the medicine is reassuring.

Thanks Mary for your reply

Your bit of kit looks like a useful addition to my holiday kit.
