Survey on Rheumatoid Arthritis: How can medical research communication be improved for patients and carers?

NRAS has been asked to help a MSc student from Manchester Metropolitan University who is studying Science Communication. If you live with RA or are a relative of someone with Rheumatoid Arthritis you can help science communication research by taking a few minutes to fill out this student’s online survey. Your opinion matters. The survey hopes to learn how can researchers improve communication of medical research to patients and carers.

Leia is a student at the Manchester Metropolitan University. Based on a recent scientific publication in an important medical journal, you will be asked to read 3 text summaries of different complexity and 1 graphic summary then give feedback on each. Completing this survey should only take approximately 20-30 minutes. Your responses are anonymous and your feedback will be kept confidential. The results of this survey will be used for scholarly purposes – hopefully to improve how medical information is communicated to patients and carers.

If you do have any questions with regards to this survey, please feel free to contact Leia at leia.m.martinez-silvagnoli@stu.mmu.ac.uk.

The same questions are asked after each summary that you read so it will look like it's repeating but you answer them in relation to the summary you've just read.

Hope that helps

Will do this evening its a good idea.

Its a good idea and I have completed it, but student could have been better advised re how to compare each article alongside each other and be better able to compare to rank. If she wants this to be useful maybe rewrite and repost survey.
