Are you on your own with five grandchildren? What sort of ages? Are they old enough to take some responsibility? Will this help them to become more responsible adults who can understand what it is to look after others? In other words - can you turn this into an opportunity not a disaster?

I have 6 grandchildren of my own and Himself has 6 too. I had hoped to be an active, fun Granny and I am. I'm the one with time and patience to read, do jigsaws, teach handicrafts etc. They have grandparents to be active with but I have my niche skills. Time for them is golden. Hugs

I hear what you are saying,I was retired from work (NHS) three years after being diagnosed with Bipolar and two years after being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1998 at the age of 47

I felt like I was on the scrap heap,in 2002 I had 2 beautiful Grandchildren of which one i looked after two days a week she gave me a new lease of life, now 17years on with 6 Grandchildren as much as I love them dearly I find it very hard at times to keep up with them lol but on the other hand they have been my reason to fight these awful diseases x
