Hi everyone ,haven't been on for a while ,been a bit under the weather but hope this finds you all in good spirits.I really just wanted to say that although these illnesses are very difficult to endure ,I find that seeing others struggling to get around and do normal things is humbling in a way ,it may sound silly but when you realise others are still making an effort to get out there and get on with life you don't feel so alone.I saw an old lady the other day walking with a little trolley and she was nearly bent in two ,but she was smiling ,I thought ,I must make more of an effort because if she can do it so can I ,I bought a second hand treadmill the next day and if I can do ten minutes of gentle walking each day I'll be at least trying .I've also had a good look at my duet and tweaked a few things, hopefully I'll lose a few pounds and feel better .I have till next September to look my best for my daughters wedding so I have something to work towards ,hope you are all staying positive and feeling good ,wish me luck🏃💃🙌🏃

Be positive
Magymay,
Thank You for the breath of fresh air! That made my day! Very true!
Yes I gree very refreshing and helpful.
I have always had a strong determination to achieve whatever I want to do, but never more so than since being diagnosed with RA. I recently had a big flare and was more or less household for several weeks. Neighbours and friends were very kind and helpful, but though I knew it was best for me to rest at the time, I still pushed myself to do things which I wanted to do !! So, my thoughts are do what you can to stay independent and enjoy a normal lifestyle, but rest when your body needs it's energy to get you better.
Take care everyone xxx
Wishing you luck and a posh hat too..... lol x
Hi Ajay I'll just keep at it with a positive outlook and do my very best ,one step at a time 😁pardon the pun 😁
Good for you! It is so important to keep moving . I have started walking 🚶♀️ a few weeks ago. After you push past the pain and fatigue you do feel so much better . I am now walking more than 20 kilometres a day. It is very challenging in this heat wave but still better than rain. I know from experience, being old and all , that the key is changing your internal dialogue. Rather than focus on what I could not do. It took weeks to build up some stamens but I am truly amazed at how well it has gone.
Hang in there and never give up. A little determination can go a long way. I hope the wedding is amazing 😉Congrats
Good for you!! Thank you for your words of wisdom...you’re absolutely spot on!! So many times...I’ve forced myself to go out walking but so glad I did it as it does lift your spirits and make you feel better! Even a little way goes a long way! 😊
Glad you’ve got positive hat on magymay, after your awful time at tribunals etc: don’t let those buggers drag you down. It’s a very up n down disease I find and I do try n appreciate good days 😀 Best one for me was 2 old guys in 80s in post office bragging about how old they were (lol) and one said ‘yep, every day’s a bonus’ so that’s my mantra now. Lost my mum earlier in year so it kind of hones up what’s really important in life for you even if we have got this shitty disease that no-one ‘gets’ but us. Enjoy your lovely wedding, and the food (I can’t lose weight but blame the drugs, ha!) buy a fab hat 😄x
Hi Magymay. Thank you. Your post has cheered me so much. It's all to easy to become negative and miserable when suffering nasty diseases like ours. We should celebrate being alive far more often.
J
We don't know each other Magymay, but I would also like to add my blessings to you for your forthcoming wedding. I hope the sun shines for you and enjoy your happiness. Xxx
