Hand x-rays

Morning all,

I've read through the updated guidelines on RA and from what I can see, I was supposed to have x-rays of my hands around diagnosis time. This didn't happen - should it have done? And is 2 years on too late to have them done for a baseline comparison in case of future (or further) deformity? My bloods were exceptionally conclusive at the time so if it's just to confirm diagnosis then I guess it wasn't needed...but given a few other concerning incidents around that time, I'm suspicious that I should have had them and it was missed!

Guidelines are just that....guidelines not absolute requirements. However it is common to have them done and it is useful to have a baseline, so ask for them to be done now.

Always a good idea to ask. People forget to do things - it's human nature!
