Plaquenil

Hi,

I need your help, last week I was diagnosed with macular degeneration, so my RA doctor took me off of Plaquenil today. I am wondering did anyone have more pain or any bad side effects I need to know about. Appreciate any advice, have a pain free day.

I've never been on that med but I do know that both avocado and red peppers are excellent for the eyes.

You need to take Lutein pills, at least 20mg a day. I had the beginnings of Age related Macular Degeneration and was adviced to take Lutein. Had to have eye tests every year for 3 yrs, then told it hadn’t got any worse and am now seen every 2 yrs. it won’t cure it , but I firmly believe it stops it getting any worse.

That is good to hear. My eye specialist did give me a good vitamin that has lutein in, thank you :).

Thank you, that was an interesting article, I know there isn't any cure all, I have also been told with RA our bodies will probably attack the vitamins, not a winning situation

I'm on plaquenil not got macular probs but have to see a specialist next week for laser treatment because optician thinks it's caused cornea adhesions.
