NHS conspiracy?

I needed some antibiotics to clear a gum infection on a tooth implant. Rheumatologist? no, you must see the dentist. GP? no, you must see you dentist. Dentist? we have a free appointment tomorrow. "But I just need a prescription written for antibiotics". Sorry, you have to see a dentist. Result; a 20 second inspection of the gum, and: yes, you do need antibiotics. Over 65 years old? "Yes". That is £21.60 please. For a prescription I should not be paying for!!!
