Had a phone 📱 call from chapel Allerton got my hand injections next Thursday sooo scared of the pain

The injections I have had into knees, elbow and thumb joints at various times over past 18 months are uncomfortable and have taken between 12 and 36 hours to recover. However the benifits have far outweighed the feeling of the injections. I have found it better when freezing spray has been put on my skin before the main injection. I would never turn one down when offered.

I would tell the person how you are feeling when you get there.

I had one recently in my fingers. Freezing / numbing spray good... bit uncomfortable but pretty quick and the benefit outweighs the discomfort. Mine got worse next 3 days ( think body’s reaction to something happening) then very gradual improvement day by day. By 2 weeks I knew it was working. My Rheumatologist said 6 weeks to see full effect. I have follow up appointment at 8 weeks to check all ok. Be brave and you will get benefit but be patient. Until you start getting relief you don’t realise how bad you have been!

Try not to worry and think of the good they do . I’ve had 4 in my wrist/hand under ultrasound, little bit uncomfortable but definitely worth it . Hope all goes well for you .
