Not sure about this " Hub"

I've just noticed that the resourses part of the hub appears to be promoting on line prescriptions and insurance I actually did not join this site to be targetted by promotional items. How do I delete these items. I noticed in my GP's the other day a warning about on line prescription services which are not actually endorsed by the NHS. How do we know this company is ?

Hadn't noticed that until you said....presumably HU need to get funding from somewhere to keep this service active, so I just plan to ignore it. It doesn't seem to be that invasive?

But who pays for this company who deliver the prescriptions?

My surgery has a pharmacy in the same building & will deliver if you can't get out to collect your prescription..

But this company are using the NHS logo.

I know I'm nit picking, but if the NHS is so cash strapped, I wonder if now is the time to suddenly provide free delivery of scrips to everybody who signs up?

I work for Lloyds this company is almost pharmacy to u or pharmacy direct, they use the. Logo but are Not appointed by the NHS!!! This practice of using the logo should be banned, high street pharmacy is struggling these people are not ethical

I wonder why HU have allowed them to advertise on this site then.....somebody must be paying for this service......the drug companies?

Surely they investigated if they really were associated with the NHS?

It is a good idea for people who are housebound, but I don't like them insinuating they are associated with the NHS....& there is no such thing as a free lunch!

I had a quick look at the Travel Insurance Ad too...on that they want your life story & medical history to sell you something.

Personally I like to investigate a company & be convinced of their integrity before I reveal so much about myself.

That's my concern it's using information to target people across a whole range of conditions. I'm shocked the NRAS have not put a warning on that its not an endorsement just advertising.

Is this is the company that the warning about using NHS logo is about it gives the impression of an endorsement but isn't.

Nothing shows up on my mine. But if it did, i'd totally ignore it.

In the hub to see these ads you have to click to open them...they don't just appear.

I haven’t noticed either but I’d be of a similar view to HH.

Nothing on mine either.

I had only noticed it a couple of minutes ago but not explored it. I have enough problems getting my drugs as it is, I'm not going to sign my life away to some faceless company!

I am interested in Summer's comment.

Just to say I've used Pharmacy2U to purchase supplements online (not their prescription service) and I've always found them to be fine. I'm not sure why people here are saying they shouldn't be using the NHS logo? They are registered to provide an online NHS repeat prescription service so there's nothing untoward here in my opinion. I guess, as someone has said, HU is receiving ad money from them in order to fund this website. I don't see anything wrong with that. I haven't looked at the other links though - don't know about the insurance thing as I haven't looked at that.

I never said they should not be using it, just concerned that it appears to be indicating that its an endorsement whilst not giving any references to safety of issue, it could be a operation run from a shed or sending out medication which might or might not be suitable or even for the person its intended for. Our GP's has electronic dispensing and it works well not sure I'd trust a faceless organisation to do this as in local chemists its all checked twice, does this company do this. I stress I'm not saying it's dishonest but a Doctor on line ??? on line I might be 26 blonde and a model the reality is differnt, if you get my drift.....

No, they are definitely a reputable company. I've used them. They've been around for several years. I saw their ad on the TV today for their NHS prescription service. They're properly vetted and it's all above board.

If everyone starts using Pharmacy2U or whoever, your local High Street chemists will soon be closing down, and then we'd be in trouble. Your local chemist offers exactly the same prescription delivery service so use them instead.
