No more running but frequent walks- I am looking for a handle or a new idea for my dogs leash as it is hard on my hands, wrists and shoulders. Leaving Toby at home is not an option!
I can still bike and boyfriend made me some grips out of foam pipe insulation!! Awesome! Again- ten miles is now the limit.
Tai Chi is really nice. If you haven’t tried it yet there are some great beginner videos on You Tube. This has probably saved my sanity.
I have been on Plaquinol and Tizanidine for 6 weeks and I am starting to feel better, however I have developed an itchy rash on my torso. Am taking Zyrtec and it has calmed down.
Was down in the dumps at first but a friend who is having her own battles with ms reminded me that instead of focusing on what I can’t do anymore, focus on what I still can do and what I can do if I think about trying it in a new way.
If I have a bad day or week or month it’s okay. I’m allowed to.
It is nice to talk to people who understand.
Thank you all VERY much- peace and relief to all who seek it.

Aw what an uplifting one, having a good day? I veer from one extreme to another. I love swimming in old small warm victorian baths near me, looks like an old boathouse, cant do 20 lengths any more but chills me out, looked at dog leads you can attach to belt, elasticated on amazon, hands free yeay! I got cheap Paul Lam arthritis dvd too Tai Chi like youI'm not sure I'm doing it right but damn it looks cool. All the best Keren
And, if we're not up to 'doing' at the moment, we can at least enjoy vicariously though 'watching' 👀 . . . ☺️
Wishing you (& your little pup 🐶) well, Kimberly. 🙏 🌺 🍀 🌞

Hi Kimberly, I too was very active hill walking ,sailing also 3/4 times a week in the gym. Then the dreaded R.D. Struck at worst I couldn't feed myself or pull the duvet up. Meds have got the worst under control and I've adopted a dog he has helped loads taking me walkies I also swim 4/5 times a week ,I find its good all round exercise as it helps with joint mobility without putting weight on the joints also it's good cardiovascular exercise.
Pets are so helpful.... thanks for the swimming idea! Out local high school has a pool! I am glad my meds are helping on most days for now. Happy for you too!
I’m replying an old post - re ways to be active. I also have RA, & like you running is not an option, but I would recommend rebounding - it’s great cardio & perfect for fitness while at home, especially as gyms are closed at the moment.
I use a Belicon rebounder (it has a softer bounce) but regular metal spring kind are also good. Great exercise, & good for the lymphatic system.
