I have the same problem (both hips damaged). Steroid shot helped. I had an intramuscular shot, but you can have one straight into hip. I also alternate pain relief. I have two soluble paracetamol as soon as I wake up, and then codeine a bit later. I take both at bedtime. Swimming and sauna helps a bit. I also find an electric blanket helps. I switch it on before bed, and also upon waking.

I had hip pain for 2 years . I couldn’t lie on either side to sleep and when I was flaring I could hardly walk. I had steroid injections in both sides which helped and after having 3 or 4, crossed fingers the pain is now gone most of the time. Mind you it’s in my knees now! Hey ho......

Just like to share that I have been taking Turmeric Powder that I bought from the indian store usually used for curries. You can also buy the tuber. I have 3 types of Arthritis and have been taking it for almost two weeks now. I can now cope with the pain better. It has reduced the pain. I sprinkle it on my frying egg in the morning. I also fried 6 tablespoons and have put it in a jar in the fridge which I take 1/2 tsp before a meal if I haven't had an egg in the morning. I only take paracetamol as I cannot tolerate most tablets. I am not sure if it will work for everyone but worth a try. Wish you all the very best. x

I drink turmeric tea about 3 times a day and it helps with inflammation: 1/3 teaspoon ginger, 1/3 t'spoon turmeric, 1/4 t'spoon pepper. Boiling water then stand for 5 minutes. Strain and add t'spoon honey

Thank you. I will try that for during the day. My inflammation marker is 19. Due for a blood test this month. Thank you so much. x
