I'm really sorry you are in so much pain.

I'm not qualified to suggest anything to help with sleep medically. But have you tried a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow.

This helps me to relax.

Hi Glhlf,

if you need a really strong painkiller then speak to your GP as they can prescribe ones that you cannot get over the counter without a prescription.

Hi

22 months ago I had tkr in both knees at the same time - I understand what your saying! I didn't sleep properly either.

For the pain, the hospital allowed me morphine home on discharge. I had that for the first few days and then oromorph for a few weeks. I dont think I would've gotten through it without strong pain killers .

Have you spoken to your gp in relation to appropriate pain relief?

Also, I was always advised to have a pillow under my ankle to keep my legs a little elevated - this helped too.

Really feel for you and hope you find some relief, soon

Hi

I had a TKR 6 months ago and it was also a complex surgery.

I found constantly icing the knee was the best pain relief of all as the medication just made me feel sick all the time.

Best wishes x
